"I dont know, maybe we should call in for the others..." Will said as we sat around the apartment. I sat inbeteen Ava and Thomas, holding his hand as I listened to the conversation around me. I couldnt look at Dylan in the eyes. He always knew when I was lying...
"The more people we call, the more people that will be put in danger. They got out, let them stay out," Thomas said.
"But what if they are being threatened too? We all know that these psychopaths wont stop killing, and they're probably just in as much danger as we are," Ava retorted.
"She's right... we need to warn them," Grant said, siding with her.
"I say let's wait... If something else happens then we'll call them, Thomas is right, we need to leave them out of this for as long as we can. We dont even know if they're in any sort of danger. Lets just let them live the lives they have until we can't help it..." Dylan said. Everyone thought for a moment.
"Maybe you're right..." Will said softly. "But we need a plan. We need to take Nick down."
"Agreed. But we cant do it from here... we need a hide out, somewhere that they dont know about..." Thomas said.
"I know just the place," Dylan replied. "Thomas, Will, and I can go out tonight, scope it out. Grant and the girls can run out and get a few things we need, and we'll all meet up there."
"Well look at you taking charge. Almost reminds me of Urie," Grant laughed. Dylan shrugged and looked down.
"Right then, let's get on with it," Thomas said. "We'll all meet back here by nine. No later."
"Let's get ready to head out, I'll make a list of things we need for our new base. It's not going to be near as good as the one we had in New York, but it's going to do well for now..." I nod my head in agreement as we all stood up.
"Stay safe..." Thomas said to me as the others scattered to prepare."
"You too," I replied, hugging him.
"We'll think of a way to tell him," he whispered.
"Yeah..." I smiled at him as he pulled away and walked off to join Dylan and Will. Dylan came over to me.
"Take care of yourself, if you get into any trouble, Grant will be there to help," he said to me.
"Yeah, I know... Um... stay safe," I said, trying not to, look him in the eyes.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine..." he gave me a disbelieving look. "I'm just a little worried is all... I don't like the fact that we have to hide again..." I said, pulling out the first excuse I could.
"Oh... yeah, well... it's going to be fine. We're gong to settle all of this soon."
"Yeah. I know. We should get going now."
"Yeah. I'll see you soon."
"Bye," I said as he walked away.
"We should get going," Grant said coming over with Ava.
"Yeah," I said. "Let's go."
~~~
I sat in the back of the car, zoning out what Grant and Ava were talking about. I felt nauseous... it must be morning sickness of something.
We were driving to the hideout now, with the equipment and stuff in the back end.
"Caitlyn, are you okay?" Ava asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit sick to my stomach is all."
"Morning sickness?" I looked up at her quickly before glancing at Grant.
"Don't look at me, I didn't say anything," he said.
"Don't worry, I wont tell your brother..."
"How did you know anyways?" I asked. She turned and looked at me.
"You and Thomas aren't exactly subtle," she laughed. "I think the only reason Dylan hasn't found out is because he doesn't want to." I looked out the window, thinking about it, but suddenly something hit the side of the car, flipping us into the ditch. I heard a loud ringing in my ear, feeling the weight pulling me upwards. I opened my eyes, seeing we were completely upside down. Ava wasn't in the car, and Grant was kneeling infront of me, but he was upside down... no.... I'm upside down.
"Caitlyn, can you hear me?" He asked.
"What happened?" I asked.
"That son of a bitch Nick is what happened. Come on, let's get you down." He held me up and unbuckled my seatbelt, gently helping me down. He helped me get out of the car and I sat down on the ground next to Ava. Grant kneeled down in front of me with a flashlight, but I noticed the sun was coming up.
"How long was I out?" I asked.
"About 15 minutes after us... who knows how long we were out for, but we're pretty much in the middle of nowhere so no one found us." My head was pounding and I felt super nauseous. "How are you feeling?" he asked as he felt my pulse.
"Nauseous," I said. "Really really nauseous."
"Well as much as that sucks, it's a good sign."
"How is that possibly a good sign?" He just smiled at me. "It means the baby is reacting, meaning it's alive." he started looking through his bag before pulling out a small yellow wrapper. "Here, keep this in your mouth for a while. The lemon will help settle your stomach."
"What would we do without having a doctor around?" Ava joked, staring at her phone. He just rolled his eyes and sat next to her.
"Any luck?" He asked.
"No... There's no service out here." She groaned and handed him the phone.
"Well, I guess we're walking. It's only a few miles out."
"What about the supplies?" she asked looking over at the car laying on it's top.
"We'll just have to come back I guess, but the others are probably worried..."
"After this are we going to call the others?" I asked. "I mean we obviously don't have any sort of chance without them..."
"We'll decide when we get back to the others, alright? But we should hurry for now." I just sighed, agreeing with him. I've never been this scared before. I wasn't even afraid for my own life, but for Thomas... Our child... we walked together in silence, I only hoped we would get there soon.
We walked for what seemed like forever, until we finally came up to an old abandoned shack, directly across the way, there was a house that was scorched, but still standing. Barely. Ava stared at it, a look of fear in her eyes.
"Ava, are you alright?" I asked.
"What?" She asked, looking over quickly. "Oh... yeah. I'm great..." this entire town looked abandoned.
"Come on," grant said, pushing a metal side panel away, allowing us to go inside. The entire olace was dark and quiet, only a few slits in the roof, allowing light to seep in.
"This is it?" I whispered "Where are the others?"
"They're probably downstairs," he replied, coming in after us and puling out his flashlight. The beam had become much duller than it had been earlier, indicating it was about to die. He walked over to a large concrete door on the floor and lifted it up by the rope attached. Light seeped through and I instantly saw Dylan pop up.
"Where the gell have you guys been?!" He said running right to me and hugging me tightly.
"They sent some people after us," Grant responded as the other two came up. "They flipped are car."
"Is everyone alright?!" Thomas asked coming over to me quickly and glancing down at my stomach.
"We're all fine, Thomas... really," I said. He sighed and hugged me tightly.
"I'm not going to leave you again..." he whispered.
"That's it, I think we need to call the rest of them," Will said. "This has to stop." Grant sighed.
"I just feel bad pulling them into this again... but you're right. There's nothing else we can do."
"Who is there, Urie, Luke and Cayla, Calum, and Robbie?" Dylan asked. Thomas sighed slightly.
"I guess it's better than no one..." he said. "I'll get a hold of Luke, you guys call the others," he said as we all walked down into the basement.
"If you guys take care of that, I'll run back to the wreck and get the supplies from the car," Grant said.
"You're not going alone," Ava said standing next to him.
"Theres less risk if only one of us goes."
"Tough luck, I'm going with you."
"Are you sure that's such a good idea?" I asked. "We were almost killed..."
"Yeah, I'll be fine. Besides, who else is going to watch over this one?" She laughed, nudging Grant. He just smiled slightly.
"Well... okay... but be careful," I said.
"I always am." They turned and walked up the steps.
"Hey, you sure you're okay?" Dylan asked as I started feeling nauseous again.
"Yeah... I'm fine," I said sitting down, trying to settle my nerves before I threw up. Thomas gave me a nervous look from across the room as he held his phone.
"You don't seem fine... what are you hiding?"
"H-hiding? I'm not hiding anything..." I lied.
"Caitlyn... I've known you your entire life... you cant lie to me." I just shook my head.
"It's complicated.."
"What does that mean?" He sat next to me and sighed. "Cait, why do you feel like you have to hide it from me?" I sighed and came up with a quick excuse.
"I'm just terrified. I don't want to go though this again... what if something happens again? What if I lose Thomas? Or you?"
"You're not going to. Not now, not ever. Okay? You don't need to be afraid." I smiled slightly and looked down as he pulled me into a hug. "I'm going to call Urie, see if he can come down... okay? You just sit back and get some rest."
"Okay," I sighed as he stood up and joined the others. Everything was going back to hell..
