I shifted in bed and turned onto my side. My head was pounding. The sun shone through the window. Thomas wasn't in bed. I sat up and groaned. I stood up and walked out of the room. I saw Thomas sitting next to the window, staring out.
"Hey," I said sitting by him.
"Hey, feeling better?" He asked grabbing my hand.
"Yeah. I just feel a little queezy..."
"Are you ill?" He felt my forehead for a fever.
"No, I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I'm fine." Suddenly there was an anxious knock on the door. Thomas stood up and answered it. I saw Grant standing there, looking nervous.
"Is something wrong?" Thomas asked inviting him in.
"Um... well I uh, got the um, blood work back and..."
"Did you find something? They didn't drug her did they?"
"No no, its nothing like that its just um..." he froze.
"Spit it out!" I said standing next to Thomas.
"You're pregnant..." he said suddenly.
"Wait... what?" Thomas asked.
"The blood work came back, and it tested positive. I wasnt even going to run the test, but it was just easier to do it."
"Holy shit..." I said sitting back down. Thomas put his hand on my shoulder.
"Wait seriously, shes pregnant?"
"Seriously." I didnt even know what to say. I felt tears welling up in my eyes. This was exactly the worst possible moment to be pregnant. Why was this happening?
"Cait, you okay?" He asked sitting next to me.
"Yeah, yeah... fine," I lied. He rubbed my back soothingly. "Oh god, don't tell Dylan... not yet at least."
"I wont... I'll um, give you two some time, um..." he just turned and walked out. I put my head in my hands. Why the hell was this happening to me? Thomas rubbed the back of his neck, clearly not knowing what to say.
"What are we going to do?" He asked.
"I dont know... what do you do when you find out a psychopath is trying to kill you and everyone you love, and then find out in the same week that you're pregnant?" I replied, frustrated. He sighed slightly and put his arms around me.
"Its going to be alright. We can get through this, we always pull through. You know that."
"Right, yeah, I know... but someone is trying to kill us right now, Thomas... and now I'm pregnant? We cant just bring a baby into this, if we even make it to see the baby born..."
"The only thing different right now is that you're pregnant... people are always trying to kill us..."
"You know, just another day..." I stood up and sighed. "Thomas, I can't live like this anymore. I-I just can't." He stood up and hugged me tightly.
"I know... I know. But dont worry, I'm going to stop this. All of it." Instantly I began feeling better.
"Oh god, how do we tell my brother I'm pregnant?"
"We'll figure that out after everything simmers down... I mean, he'll probably try and kill me too, so I'd rather not..." I laughed slightly.
"We'll tell him later... we just need to get Grant to shut up..."
"Our lives are shit..." I sighed.
"They can only get better though. I promise."
"Yes, dying is so much better at this point..."
"Don't say that... because at this point, I cant tell if you're joking." I sighed and hugged him again, resting my head on his chest.
"I just dont know what to do anymore," I whispered. "I just dont know..."
