Broken Alpha (Book 1 of the Broken Wolves series)

Aliac

“Come on Ice, we need to keep going” Aliac told Ice. They had to rest after a week of walking. They were all hungry and tired. Especially Ice with her two pups Snow and Namara. Ice rose slowly and yawned “How long have we rested for?” she asked sleepily. “For a few hours, we'll be able to rest more when we get there, I promise.” Aliac siad. She walked up to Mouse and nudged her awake. “Wake up Mouse. We need to keep walking. Wake up Stone and then help Ice with her pups.” She waited until she saw Mouse get up. Then Aliac walked to where Kludd was sleeping and woke him up. Kludd looked at her and said “Are we leaving now?” “Yes we are. Go and catch up with Ice. Tell everyone to get something to eat then come to me.” She told him.

Aliac gulped down a mouse in a few famished bites. She was still thinking of the horrifying fight that happened before they left. Before they even thought of leaving. The River-pack had come and attacked their camp. Their Alpha Nyra and her pack had killed almost all of Sky-pack, Aliacs pack. Nyra manipulated Aliacs best warrior Night in killing Wolf, Aliacs  mate. Even Aliacs daughter Tawny, was killed trying to protect her sister. But before Nyra could do any more damage Aliac had killed her. Now she has only a few warriors and four pups left. 

Aliac let out a howl of grief for her fallen pack mates. Ice, Mouse, and Stone joined in. The four pups tried to howl but it came out a sharp yelp. Aliac lead them down a sharp curved ravine. “Be carefull, its very steep” she said. She jumped from rock to rock, trying her best not to slip into the strong currents of water. When she got to the edge she jumped onto the flatest rock. She heard a yelp and turned around just in time to see Silver fall into the water. She searched frantically to see a head come up but their was nothing.

Aliac jumped in the water a fought hard to not go under. She swam and swam but couldnt find her. She let out a yelp of fear. Just then Silver came up to the surface and yelled “Mum! Help me!” Aliac half jumped and swam toward her. She grabbed Silver by her scruff and tried to climb on the rocks. Her claws kept scraping on the rocks and she slipped back in. They went under for a few moments but then was pulled up out of the water by Stone and Mouse. She waited until she felt her body on land before she got up. She went to Silver and nudged her. She didnt move. Alaic yelped and tried to wake her. She wouldnt wake. Mouse walked up to Silver and put her ear to her and said “Shes still breathing but we need to get her out of the wind. We dont want her to get sick.” She helped Aliac carry Silver to a small cave. They let Aliac and Silver rest out of the wind.

A Few days later Silver was able to walk and eat. She had a little cold but it went away. Aliac was better now that her daughter was ok. She had Stone and Mouse hunt and she had Ice rest with the four pups. 

When it was time to keep going Aliac gathered everyone and said “We will take it more slowly and stay clear from water.” Everyone bowed their head. She was satisfied so theykept walking.
