Stone

Stone watched as Aliac drew away and she barked "Now for your name...Would you like to keep it or change it" Nikita thought for a moment and answered "Change" Stone respected her choice. if she got her name from her last pack no wonder she wanted to change it. Aliac nodded and looked at her pack. "this wolf wishes for a new name. One that will describe her heart and spirit. She will be known as Flame." Stone howled her name along with other pack mates and when the were quiet Aliac spoke again. "Stone until Ice is better you will be temporary deputy. The elk you, Eva, and Kludd caught, give everyone there share." Stone nodded and padded up to the elk. his mouth watered. This was proper wolf food. Not rabbits or squirrels which hardly got rid of there hunger. Stone made a nice clean rip in the elks body and tore out a chunk. He set that in front of Aliac and tore another chunk. He kept that up until every wolf had there share. And finally he had his. When everybody was done eating Stone helped Snow and Namara finish cleaning out the branches and leaves. Soon they had cleared everything and we're making nest when Aliac padded up to Stone with Flame by her side. "I want you to patrol the new border and re mark them. we need to make them know we're here." Aliac said and Stone nodded. Flame padded so close to Stone that Stones heart fluttered. There was something about Flame that made him happy. Soon they came to the river. Flame must have been happy because she ran and jumped in the stream, spraying cold water in Stones face. Stone jumped back with a yelp and jumped in after her. the water was freezing and it was already making Stones legs cold. They padded out the stream and shook their fur. Stone was amazed at her pelt color in the sun. Aliac choose the right name. Her pelt was like fire. He couldn't keep his eyes off her, but he turned away when she returned the look. What was he thinking. She just joined the pack and he already liked her. "Lets mark the borders and bring moss for nest." Stone barked and Flame nodded. Soon they were back in camp. Stone helped Snow and Namara mKe a nest around Ice. She was getting better each day. Though her face was still scarred she showed the same spirit and courage then she used to. Stone was amazed she didn't die. Her injuries were life threatning and the amount of blood she lost, even Aliac thought she was going to die. But Stone was glad she didn't. His sister wouldn't have been able to lead the pack without her.

"I want you, Flame, and Kludd to make a nursery den in the middle of the clearing. It will be the warmest spot and Ice still needs to nurse Namara and Snow." Aliac too Stone and Stone went off to find Kludd. He was sitting with Eva eating a mouse.

"We need to make a nursery den." Stone barked to Kludd and the young wolf licked Eva and followed him to the center of the rocks. Aliac was right, it would be the warmest part of the den especially since the entrance will be blocked by the broken tree branch. "Gather sticks and leaves. Find a few vines that we can tie the branches together." Stone told Flame and Kludd as they approached the designated area.

Stone showed the other wolves how to expertly weave the branches together to make a den like shape. then he showed them where to patch up the wholes with leaves to keep out the breeze. When they were done he was impressed. But they still needed more moss for nest. "Silver, Kludd, and Namara you three go out and collect moss. Snow bring a mouse to Ice, and Eva bring one to Mouse and Aliac." Stone wasn't used to ordering them around but he was glad when the wolves nodded and ran off. He was exhausted after the long day of cleaning and all he wanted to do was sleep. bat he had to eat so he forced himself to eat a small vole. He wanted to leave as much of the elk for Aliac and Ice. when he was done eating he layed in one of the moss nest that Snow and Namara made and slowly went to sleep.
