Ice was so tired when it came to be night. She had four pups to take care of, even though Kludd and Eva wasn't hers. She didnt like that Aliac let Kludd stay, but they couldn't let him starve. When they stopped again she layed down and nursed them. She was happy that Kludd was old enough to eat meat.
Ice walked up to Aliac and asked “How much longer is this journey. You said it was only four days. It turned out to be a week, and maybe longer....” Aliac looked at her and said sadly “Honestly I dont know. Its been a long time since I went with Wolf.....,” She lowered her head in grief and then continued “It shouldnt take us much longer. Its just hard to think after.....” Ice looked at her understandably. She had lost her mate in the fight also. So had Stone.
She bowed her head to Aliac and then walked to Mouse “How are the pups?” She asked her. Mouse looked tired from the four tussling. “Kludd and Eva , why dont you come with me for your first lesson to eat meat.” Mouse asked. She wanted to let Ice be alone with her pups. “Yes!” Kludd and Eva yelped. Mouse looked admirely at the two pups as they ran along side each other. There going to be mates one day She snorted a laugh and ran after them.
Ice watched them as they ran down to the riverbank. She looked at her two daughters. Namara was the strongest. She was the most dominant of the two. Snow was a shy little pup. Shed rather stick with Ice then go play with Kludd and Eva.
“Aliac,” Ice approached her Alpha and asked “What are we going to do. I mean were short on warriors and we have a lot of mouths to feed.” Aliac looked at her and snapped “You are the deputy. You should know what to do if you expect to become Alpha one day!” Ice took a step back surprised at her leaders sudden anger. “I-I didnt mean to cause disrespect. Im sorry I upset you” She said turning to walk out of the make-shift den.
“Ice wait,” Aliac called to her. “Im sorry I snapped at you. Its just theres a lot to do now that.....” Ice knew what she meant. She nodded her head to Aliac and walked to Stone. “Go to Aliac. She needs your comfort. Try to get her to talk and ask her about adding new wolves to the pack.” seeing the confused look in his eyes she added “Dont ask questions. Just do what I say.” Stone bowed his head at her and walked to Aliacs den.
Ice walked toward her pups. They must be hungry. She thought as she curled up around them and let them eat. While her pups slept she gazed out to where Stone and Aliac were talking. It seemed like Aliac was actually listening to Stone for once. Ice snorted with laughter and got up to talk to Mouse. She saw Mouse walk back with a few squirrles. “Good day hunting Mouse?” the deputy asked her. Mouse dropped the squirrles and said “Yes Ice. Should I take one to Aliac?” Ice glanced at Aliac and said “Yes. Bring one to Stone to.” Mouse nodded and padded off toward Aliac and Stone. Ice walked back to her den and layed down with her pups. She curled around them and fell asleep.
