A howl ripped the air as Flame struggled to breathe. The pain was unbearable. She didn't know how other she wolves could go through this many times. Another spasm made Flame growl in pain and the branch between her jaws snapped with ease. Mouse was by her side guiding the birthing wolf, making sure there was no trouble with the pups.

Flame just wanted it to be over. She made Stone leave the den when he flinched every time she barked and she knew he was just as nervous as she was. She knew he was having pups with his previous mate before she was killed by river-pack. Flame knew he must be thinking about it and she didn't want to scare him anymore.

Another spasm jolted from her thoughts and Mouse barked "Push! I see a pup." Flame gave a huge push and a pup slid from her. Mouse gave the pup to Ice to clean and focused back on Flame. "You have two more pups. Hang in there." The medicine wolf barked and pushed gently on Flames stomach.

Flame curled around her sleeping pups and growled happily. Stone sat beside her licking her ears in pride. They had two sons and a daughter. The she-wolf was a black and gray color. One of the males was the color of a red leaf in fall. with specks of brown and black. The other male was the color of a blue gray stone like his father.

"Can we name the she-pup Kala. And the gray male Faolan?" Flame said staring at the two pups. Stone nodded "Yes those are great names. We should let Namara name the other male. I know that's all she has been talking about since she asked me." Stone chuckled and left the den to find the little black she wolf.

Flame nudged the gray male closer to her and licked Kala. She couldn't wait until they opened their eyes and began to walk around. She new Kala already had a dominate attitude, due to the way she was pushing her brothers around. She laughed silently and stared at Faolan. He was born with no ears but he seemed like he could hear everything. That inspired Flame. she would never give up on her son no matter what was wrong with him.

"Oooo I can name him?" Namara said leaping into the den and glancing at the little red wolf pup. Flame nodded and watched as Namara thought long and hard. "His name should be Copper. Is that a good name?" The black she wolf asked seriously and Flame nodded. She loved that name. It matched his coat color.

"Flame?" Aliac called from the den entrance. Namara scampered from the den and the white and gray alpha padded in. She glanced at Flames pups with wonder and admire. They were her kin as well. "They are beautiful." Her alpha said and sat beside her.

"Thank you." Flame said and pressed against Aliac. She was internally grateful for her and couldn't imagine being anywhere else. "I will try and help Stone with his deputy duties so he can spend time with you and the pups." Aliac said and left to give Flame some rest.
