Chapter 34 : "Death"

A/N so I know, I promised this chapter would be up a couple of days ago. Sorry! I was out celebrating my birthday all weekend. SORRY GUYS BUT I HAVE AN EXTREMELY LONG CHAPTER TO MAKE UP FOR IT. TOOK ME 4 DAYS TO WRITE IT. I have also decided something else.............. NaLu fans will kill me. *gulps* But YOLO!!!! I'm sorry guys. You can kill me later. *gulps again*

Tobi channeled Iced Shell, waiting for them to get into position. Earlier, he had told Wendy his plan of defeating Zeref. What he was doing now was necessary. His very own life wasn't necessary.

Rogue was losing his fight. Future Rogue was powerful, plus he had the power of Sting inside him. Rogue would never have won that fight, unless say he had help. From Sting.

Rogue was launched away from his future counterpart, preparing for the worse. He anticipated his death greatly.

Little did he know, Future Rogue wasn't going to kill him. If he did, both Rogues would disappear. He couldn't have that, now could he? After all, after the death of Achnologia, who would be the dragon King?

Rogue watched his future counterpart with disgust. How could he be so weak that he was consumed by the shadows? What happened to him? Rogue stood up, although shakily.

"What happened? How did I become like this in the future?" He asked. He was afraid of hearing the answer, but he would find out. Future Rogue looked down at his hands, the shame coursing through his body showing itself in his eyes.

"I........ We killed Frosh."

"Please tell me he's not going to do it." Kagura thought as she ran. Although she understood why he was doing it, she didn't want him to. She didn't want to lose him, especially not right now. As she ran, she could feel the tears already beginning. Instantly. She knew. Tobi had activated his Iced Shell.

"It's over, Zeref." Tobi proclaimed as he uncrossed his arms, making his decision final.

Spear made of ice shot from Tobi and aimed for Zeref. Zeref stood in place, knowing that to dodge would mean nothing the spell would not stop unless the target was killed.

The spears made contact, drawing blood.

'Blood?!' Zeref thought as he hovered in mid-air. Needless to say, he was shocked. Iced Shell was supposed to encase him, not draw blood. What had he done?

And suddenly, it dawned on him. Tobi had faked his spell, replacing himself with an ice clone to keep Zeref's attention away from him as he charged his own attack. But that alone would never have been able to kill him, so why?

Zeref was still pondering this thought when he was suddenly hit by an ice spell.

"Ice make, Lance!" Gray shouted as he fired his spell. Zeref dodged the ice spears and assumed his old position.

Gray was standing near Tobi in the air, only managing to fly thanks to Tobi's aura magic.

"So this is Zeref, eh, Tobi?" Gray asked under his breath.

"Yeah." Tobi responded. "Us two won't be able to beat him."

Gray looked at him, then smiled.

"Lucky it's the three of us, ain't it?" Gray suddenly moved away from Tobi as a blast of red fire made its way through. Tobi narrowly dodged as Natsu came flying in. His "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist" connected with Zeref, sending him flying.

Igneel was now on the ground, Achnologia readying his breath attack. He had lost, and everyone knew it. Achnologia was just too strong to fight. Igneel closed his eyes as Achnologia fired, ending his life. Igneel's last thought was that he never got to say goodbye to Natsu.
