I blinked once, twice, three times, my mouth falling open. My eyes must have deceived me, I don't believe it. I slowly turned to Hades and met his eyes. Just as I was about to run away from this craziness, he snatched my hand tightly and turned his attention to the three judges.
"Rhadamanthys, Minos and Aiakos," he addressed. "I trust that you are keeping everything under control? I noticed how there seems to be more souls than usual," he peered around the at line of ghost-like people.
"Yes my Lord, everything seems to be going smoothly today," Minos bowed his head.
"Oh, and this is Persephone, she... will being stay here for while," he said.
"Yeah right," I snorted.
He gave me a deathly glare, silently telling me to shut up. Not wanting to anger him, I did what he asked.
"We will be going now, good day," Hades nodded then turned, walking towards the door with me at his heels.
He took me back in the castle and sat me down. Neither of us said a word, the silence was so thick, you could slice it with a knife. It seemed like an hour past before one of us spoke up.
"So, I know it's a lot to take in, but I am not lying, I am an honest man," he spoke.
"I don't know what to believe. Can I please go back to that room I woke up in, to think things through?" I kindly asked him.
"Of course, I'll call you when lunch is ready," he sadly smiled.
He took me upstairs, back to my room - the guest room. I sat down on the bed and tugged on my hair. It can't be real, there is no such thing as 'Hades' or 'The Underworld'. But what I just witnessed says otherwise. I learned about Greek mythology, grew up thinking they were only stories, but I guess in reality, they're not. I sighed and fell backwards onto the bed. The stress and confusion were taking a toll on my body. Maybe if I could sit in a hot bath for awhile, my aching nerves would reside a little. Maybe.
I walked towards one of the smaller doors, assuming it was the bathroom, opened it and my mouth fell down. The bathroom was cavernous, about the size of my bedroom and that's saying something. Just like the bedroom, it was victorian style with white walls and a mini chandelier hanging from the ceiling. There was a sink and mirror rimmed with a light blue frame, and a few feet next to it was the same thing. In between that space was shelves full of stuff that I will soon peek through. On the other side of the wall was a door which I guess is where the toilet is.
The bathtub was in the middle, which is a first for me, and the shower was in the corner with blurry walls to censor certain body parts for when/if someone barges in. There was also a small couch next to the bathtub. I walked to the bathtub, plugged it and turned the knob to release scalding hot water. While waiting for it to fill up, I went to the shower and washed off the dirt first, I don't want to bathe in dirt.
After I was done with showering, I pulled on a robe I found on one of the shelves and turned off the water in the bath once it was done. I searched around for some scented bath oil and candles underneath the sink cabinet. Surprisingly, I found a rose scented bath oil. I kept looking around for the candles for several minutes and finally saw some on top of the shelves. I lit the vanilla candles, spreading them across the bathroom and turned off the lights. I poured a few drops of the rose oil and slowly stepped in until my bum touched the bottom of the tub, where I stayed for about thirty minutes.
I began to think again. Okay, so in the Greek mythology, he didn't have a consort or children. Why did he kidnap me? After a while, I thought of an answer, he needs a wife, and queen to rule the Underworld with him. My breathing quickened, is he gonna force me to marry him? No, over my dead(hot) body.
I could hear Hades from outside the room shout that lunch was ready, I hurried out from the bathtub and unplugged it. I wrapped my towel around me and walked out of the bathroom, only to find Hades on the bed, "EKKK," I yelped and pulled the towel around me tighter.
He stood up, looked me up and down with wide eyes but then adverted them and became strangely interested in a piece of lint on his shirt, "Sorry, I thought you would come out already dressed," he said as he scratched his neck.
"Well how would I come out dressed if I have no clothes, huh?" I raised my eyebrows.
"I thought you would have got some clothes from the closet - you know what, I'll wait for you outside" he nodded awkwardly and rushed out the room. I totally forgot there was another door in here, which I guess is a closet full of clothes.
I walked towards the closet, flicked on the lights and a huge room came into view, it was about the same size as the bathroom. Holy moly, this is every girl's dream. I went to the dresses hung up on a rack, they were basically all fancy but at last, I found the least formal dress. The dress was a white lace dress with a sweetheart neckline and attached to it was a thin black belt. I looked around for some heels and snatched some white high heels with a strap at the ankle. I might look a little too fancy but when the opportunity arises, I can't help but wear cute clothes, especially when they're free. I brushed my hair to untangle the knots and rushed out the door, only to bump my head on a really hard chest.
"Owww," I whined while rubbing my forehead.
"Oops, hi," Hades stuttered. Then mumbled a small sorry under his breath.
"NOW, I'm ready," I gestured to my clothes.
"Yes, right, follow me," he led me back to the dinning room.
