Clary's P.O.V.

I walked into the institute after a long day of working. I had gotten a job at Starbucks as a barista so I could get my own apartment. Hopefully with Jace.

I was definitely still getting used to the idea of "8 hours shifts". I was so tired all I wanted to do was cuddle up with Jace and fall right asleep.

I walked into Jace's room hoping to surprise him because I got off early.

Only to find him in bed. With a girl.

"What are you? The beautiful brunette girl asked.

Jace was currently under her and pushed her aside and dashed over to me.

"C-clary I, I can explain!

"Really Jace, you can explain cheating on me?! I don't even want to hear it. Just stop. Get away from me." I yelled.

I was filled with rage and sorrow as I ran back to my room and locked the door.

I aggressively shoved t-shirts and jeans into a bag, along with some weapons and my steele.

The door began to pound.

"Clary, open up I need to explain!" Jace's voice filled the rom.
"Jace, what's going on?" Alec's voiced sounded muffled outside the door.

I need to get out of here.

I drew a portal rune on the wall in front of me and just as I was about to go through it,
The door busted open.

"Clary wait!" Jace yelled. But it was cut short because I thought of paradise and jumped through the abyss of the portal.

Jace P.O.V. *Flashback*

Clary was out working, so I decided to go demon hunting. I walked into Pandemonium and immediately felt something was off.

I felt a rather disturbing presence. I spotted the greater demon across from me leaning against a wall.

It was currently wearing the form of a pretty young girl and the guys definitely had eyes for her. I made my way over to her and said " And here I thought I was the prettiest one in this club. Guess I was wrong."

The demon in front of me smiled. "Would it be bad if I bought you a drink or two?" I asked. "Yes. Very." She replied smirking. "Well good," I said. "Because I don't believe in good.

We walked to the bar and I bought a couple shots. I gestured for to have one but she said "only if you do with me!" I laughed. I couldn't blow my cover now, so I drank a shot.

Then Clary was there staring at me in shock. I realized what had happened. The demon drugged me! I dashed out of bed to her. "What are you?" The demon said.

"C-clary I, I can explain!" I pleaded.

"Oh really Jace, you can explain cheating on me?!" I don't even want to hear it. Just stop. Getaway from me." She dashed from the room.

Get away from me.

Those words echoed in my brain, in my heart.

I turned around to the demon. I grabbed a seraph blade off my nightstand and pinned her down. "Sebastian will kill you all!" She sneered. I plunged the knife in chest.

Sebastian? He's dead. But I couldn't worry about that now I had to get to Clary to explain.

I rushed down the halls to Clary's room and banged on the door. "Clary, open up I need to explain!" I yelled. Alec must have heard the racket cause he round the corner and said, "Jace, what's going on?" But I couldn't answer him now. I had to get to Clary. I ran into to the door to brake it down. I had to explain. I couldn't let her go. The whole institute shook as a portal was drawn. I hit the door one last time and it finally bust open.

"Clary wait!"

But she had already jumped through the portal.

The love of my life was gone.
