Ridgephos - Loneliness is a Burden

Darkness loomed over the Jaffa factory as day became night. Lewis sat alone in the basement, tinkering with the broken quarry, since Duncan was with Kim. God knows what they were doing but he had been spending more and more time with her. Simon had spent all his time over at pig island as that was where he preferred to be, rather than with his best friend.

Lewis sighed and continued to hammer away at the machine, blocking out all thoughts of his friends abandoning him. The sound of metal on metal echoed through the room, the sounds of mobs nothing but whispers in the dark. As he came to a stop, short, sharp breaths were heard on the opposite side of the room. Metal clashed once more before the breathing began to get louder. Silence suddenly filled the room. A hand began to reach out before lightly stroking Lewis' shoulder, causing him to jump and spin around. His hand collided with skin and a loud gasp erupted from the victim.

"What the hell was that for?" The victim screamed in pain as he fell to the floor.

"Wait," Xephos said, being careful with his words."Ridge? What're you doing here?!" 

"Well I remember you saying how you're always lonely, so I'm here to make you less lonely."

"Ridge I haven't spoken to you in years, how would you know?"

"Well, you tend to, uh how do I put this without sounding creepy?" Ridge stuttered whilst looking at the ground, hand placed gently on the back of his head."You tend to, umm, talk. Talk in your sleep." Ridge slowed down as he finished his sentence.

"YOU WATCH ME SLEEP?!!" Xeph screamed, surprised at Ridges not so confident answer.

"Uhh.." Was all Ridge could manage.

"You're a creep Ridge, a really cute creep." Xephos whispered quietly.

"What?"

"What what?" Xephos quickly retorted, hoping Ridge didn't actually here.

"Well, unless my ears are deceiving me, I thought you just called me cute." Ridge said with a sly smirk on his lips.

"Uhh, w- umm." Xephos spluttered out, it was his turn to be at a loss for words now.

"Hey it's ok, you're kinda cute yourself."

Ridge looked Xephos in the eyes and smiled lightly. His hand cupped Lewis' chin and stroke his cheek cautiously, fearing that a wrong move could destroy his chances. He then moved his other hand to Lewis' waist and placed a gentle kiss on his forehead. They both stood there hugging eachother lovingly for a while.

"Loneliness is a burden, isn't it so?" Ridge muttered into Xeph's hair. They spent the rest of the night in each others company, and Xephos was never lonely again.
