Duncan's POV

There I lay on my bed, staring up at the ceiling with a pen in my hand. I wanted to complete my homework but I just simply couldn't. No thoughts would come to my mind and I was left with a blank sheet of a3 beside me. Normally I would be fine with art homework, but today I had no inspiration to draw, basically, I was screwed.

I could lie to my parents about having done my homework, but I just couldn't face lying to them. I could tell them that I couldn't think of what to draw, but they would just tell me that I was being silly. I could ask Rosie for help, but she's always busy with her music.
I could say that it was work for partners, which is what I did.

That's how I found myself in the situation I was in now, sat on the floor, waiting for Kim to arrive. She always had the best ideas, and this way I could also help her with her art. It's a win win situation. What could possibly go wrong?

As I lay on the floor, I listen to any sign of Kim coming, and before I know it, there she is, at my door, holding her art book and pencil.

"Shall we begin,?" She questions.

"Perfect timing Kim, I was just about to text to hurry your ass." I reply whilst dropping my phone on my bed.

We begin with setting up an area on the floor for us to begin working in. Kim put her book in one half of the area and I begin settling in the other half before Kim starts to throw stuff into my part.

"Excuse me!" I exclaim, shocked from what she decided to do.

"They were in my half keep your junk on your side!" She said sassily, hand on her hip.

Before replying I laugh slightly, "My junk isn't anywhere near you Kim."

The look on her face is absolutely priceless, her jaw had dropped since she realised what she had said. "I didn't mean that!"

"You sure Kim?"

"Yes I am one hundred percent sure that I did not mean that Duncan." She pronounced every single syllable separately, implying my stupidity.

I simply laughed at her statement and sat on the floor to begin work on my homework. Now and then I would ask Kim for ideas, but apart from that silence engulfed the room. Now and then I would look over to see what she had drawn, only to be met with a blank page and a lot of rubber bits.

"You okay there Kim?" I finally asked once I finished.

"No I'm not!" She mumbled sadly, for a moment I thought I saw a tear fall down her cheek. And I was right.

"Do you need any help?" I asked politely whilst running my hand down her arm.

"Yes please Duncan," her voice was strained as if she was trying not to burst out crying.

I got up and went to go sit next to her, as I did so, Kim leant into my arm. Taking the hint, I wrap my arm around her and soothe her, telling her it's okay and that she shouldn't worry about something as silly as this.

"It's just," she began, "I c-can't draw an-anything, y-you're so g-g-good at i-it. Why can't i-i do th-this." She said in between sobs.

"You can draw Kim," I reassured her, "you just have a slightly different style."

She huddled up to me and mumbled a 'thanks' into my chest.

Kim's POV

I sat next to Duncan whilst I finished my art homework, it was good to know that I would always have him by my side. Once finished, I decided to close my book and not look at my artwork, not wanting to even think about it until I had to.

Looking at Duncan, I realised why he invited me over, the drawing he draw was of someone sat drawing, the exact way I had been laying. He said he needed inspiration, and that's what he got.

No matter what either of us I through, I know I will always have him, to me he was more than a friend. We were both outcasts and proud of it.

AN-

Well that was the last of my request, I might try doing something where I make a one shot out of one or two words, so if you could help, just write the words in the comments.

For some reason I couldn't tag the person from whom I got the suggestion from (noted at the top).

Love you all!
