Sjips - Dinner Date (Part 1)

Sjin's POV

A long day on the farm left my legs tired and arms even more so. I had finally finished all the work that I had to do on the Farm but still had a lot of work left that my Dad had wanted me to do. Even at 18 I had to be under my dad's control since this island was literally our village and that was it. All the kids here were the same age, well except Rythian's family as they had 4 kids, whereas everyone else had 1. That was either because they didn't want more kids, or they grew up and moved away as we were born about 20 years later than them (probably because our parents got bored). Our school still had separate teachers for each subject - who were our parents - but it didn't matter as we all learnt everything far too quickly and finished school at age 9. So now we of the choice if we wanted to go there and if we didn't we would have to work with our parents.

So there I was, sat in my room with the phone Xephos gave me ,as he got a new one, just talking on the group chat. I suddenly got a notification that someone sent me a private message.

New Message from: Sips

Hey wanna do something tonight?

'Was Sips asking me on a date?' I wondered to myself whilst gazing at my wall, suddenly interested in the spaces between the old rotting planks of wood that built up the barn I lived in.

As the hours droned on, I paced around trying to figure out how to waster my time until tonight. I didn't know what to say to Sips, so when I finally decided on my reply, I made Duncan check it over constantly.

Sjin: Sure thing, sorry been working hard! What time?

My text was read almost instantly as he responded almost twice as quickly.

Sips: How about 7, I'll pick you up on my bike.

Sjin: Alright, I'll see you then.

I was jumping with excitement as I replied as soon as he texted. My excitement came to a halt as I realised my fatal mistake, I had absolutely nothing to wear! Going through my contacts I found Rythian's number and quickly texted him.

Sjin: I need your help!

Rythian: ...

Sjin: I'm going on a date and need fashion advice!

I got no reply from Rythian so I took it as a hint to sort myself out. Fumbling through my clothes, I didn't realise that someone had teleported behind me. Something touched my shoulder and caused me to freeze where I stood.

"You needed help?" A deep voice asked from behind.

With a sigh of relief I turned around to find Rythian just inches away from me.
"Rythian, first of all, don't ever do that again. And second I have absolutely nothing to wear!"

He crossed his arms and made eye contact which I had to look away from as the glow of his eyes began to make mine hurt.

"Well," he began softly, "what do you have?"

"Why don't you have a look?"

Sighing, Rythian walked over to my drawers and looked through them.

"Sjin," he said bluntly, "you literally only have overalls."

"Well not everyone can be as rich as you!" I spat back angrily.

"Come over to mine and you can borrow some of my clothes, maybe some jeans and a t-shirt. Something simple."

"Rythian. You're six inches taller than me, your waist is probably four inches smaller and don't forget how your arms and legs are thinner than mine." I pointed out.

He laughed, "I'm magic you idiot, actually why don't I just use magic now?" He questioned himself.

"Rythian that's not a good ide-" Before I managed to finish Rythian had changed my current attire into some skinny jeans, t-shirt and a flannel. It was pretty sweet. "Hey thanks Rythian." I began to trail off as I realised he was no longer here.

Looking at the time, I noticed that it had just gone 6:50, Sips would be here in ten minutes and I still needed to make sure I had everything ready. Running my fingers through my hair, I sorted out all of the out of place bits.

Deciding to take a shortcut, I jumped from my window and landed in a pile of hay outside. I knew I couldn't be bothered to move it, so I just left it outside so I could jump out my window if I was rushing.

Staring out along the road, I saw two xenon lights illuminating the road ahead. I waited patiently for Sips to arrive. When he was infront of me, he stopped and patted the seat behind him. Getting on, I put on the orange and white helmet he passed me.

"Enchantment awaits!" He chimed before turning around and speeding off towards the village.
