Chapter 1: This must be a dream
I looked at myself in the mirror. Ew I looked a mess, plus I was running late for work. I grabbed my uniform with my name permanently imprinted on it. Heather Benson. Just another shitty day at the coffee shop where I worked. I was 25 and just started my own life. I had moved to LA to get the farthest as possible away from my old life. The memories were painful and I wanted to escape. I figured across the country would be the best thing.
I walked outside to my car and got in. I started the engine, and music blared through my car speakers. Aerosmith. The only band I really listen to. Steven Tyler was a god, and I wanted to be his goddess.
When I got to my workplace, Jim's Coffee Shop, I sighed. Yay. I walked inside.
"Good morning Heather!!" My boss, Jim, said happily.
"Hey.." I said unenthusiastic.
"Would you mind running the cash register today, Heather? I need you."
I sighed. "Sure Jim, I got you."
I took my place behind the register and waited for it to get busy.
~~~~~~
About an hour later, the coffee shop was full. I had worked hard all morning, even getting a few tips.
"Thanks for coming, enjoy!" I told the customer after I handed them their frappe. They smiled and walked away.
"Heather" Jim called.
"Yes??"
"I'm going to run across the street to the post office to mail something, ill be right back, you got this covered?"
I nodded. "Yeah go right ahead"
Jim walked out the door. I sighed. Let me continue this torture, I thought to myself.
I grabbed my rock and roll magazine featuring Aerosmith on the front cover. I opened it and started to read. I wasn't even a paragraph in, when I heard the bell above our door jingle as it opened.
"Welcome to Jim's coffee, how may I help you?" I said, not looking up at the new customer right away.
"What's good? What do you suggest?" The customer asked me.
"I suggest the mocha latte, it's--" I looked up and stopped talking, out of shock.
Steven Tyler was standing in my coffee shop, right in front of me, talking to me. And I wasn't talking back.
I cleared my throat. "Yeah, it's delicious, it's my fave" I finished.
He smiled that killer smile at me. "I think I'll get that, baby. You're beautiful and you know what's good."
I felt a little blush begin on my cheeks. Why?!!!
I smiled the best I could back. "Um, thank you, that'll be $2.75"
Steven handed me the money without looking away from my eyes. I looked away.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Heather. Benson." I replied shakily.
"Well Heather, thanks for the coffee. And It was nice to meet you sweetheart." He smiled again.
"Here's your receipt" I replied, handing it to him. He grinned and left.
Damn, I thought to myself. I'm crazy. Crazy because I put my number at the bottom of that receipt.
Chapter 2: Hello
Steven's POV
Wow, that girl working behind the counter was gorgeous. Hello! I want her. She seems different than most girls, and I wouldn't just use her one night than dump her like other girls. I would want a relationship.
I looked down at the receipt she gave me. Holy shit!! I started to chuckle: she put her number on it!! She doesn't seem like the type to just give away her number to strangers. Is she a fan? She probably knew who I was.
Does she like me for me? Or my fame?
~~~~~
I reached my house in Laurel Canyon a few minutes later. I walked in and sat down on my couch. Just as I did, my phone rang.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Yooo Steven, you wanna meet down at the recording studio?" Joe asked.
Joe Perry. My toxic twin, my bro.
"Sure dude, ill be there in 15"
When I got there, the whole band was already there.
"Hey Steven" Joe said.
"Hey guys" I replied.
I stared off a little bit as I sat down next to Joe, thinking about Heather.
"What's on your mind bro?" Joey asked.
"Oh nothing, just thinking."
Joey laughed. "It's a girl ain't it? You wanna hit it, an she doesn't right?"
I smiled. "Yes and no. I think I might like her dude."
Joey looked shocked. "Really?"
I nodded. "Yeah I think so, she gave me her number too"
Joe smiled. "Damn bro. Where did you meet her?"
I smiled to myself. "That coffee shop across from the post office down in the city"
Joe smirked. "Coffee shop romance"
I smacked him in the shoulder. "Shut your ass up!"
Joe laughed. "So are you gonna call her?"
I thought for a second. "Yeah I think I will dude." I pulled out my phone and the receipt and dialed the number on it. It was ringing.
