Heather's POV

Three days before the wedding

I was breathing heavy, I felt like I was having an anxiety attack.

"Heather relax!" Steven said.

I took a deep breath. "I'm fine.."

We were sitting in the living room waiting for my parents to arrive. They had just landed.

Steven pulled me to his chest, and kissed my forehead.

"Everything will be okay, I'm here to defend you if things start to go crazy"

I chuckled and raised my eyebrow.

"You know you don't always have to protect me, I think I proved that in the jail!"

He laughed. "Okay okay mrs firecracker"

"You know it" I replied.

Just then my phone beeped.

"My parents are on their way up." I said nervously.

Steven kissed me hard and passionately.

"It will be okay."

~~~~~~
About 2 minutes later, the doorbell rang.
I took a breath as Steven gripped my hand tight.
I walked to the door with him in tow and opened it.
"Sweetie!!! You look beautiful!" My mother said, as she hugged me.
I hugged her back..I mean, what else was I supposed to do?
My dad smiled at me. "Hey honey, it's good to see you" he said.
I forced a smile. "Hey dad"
"Oh, I almost forgot! This is my soon to be husband, Steven Tyler. Steven, these are my parents..Dan and Patty Mitchell"
Steven stepped forward, an shook my dads hand an hugged my mom.
"Oh Mr. Tyler, you're very polite!" My mom said.
I laughed. My mom's funny.
"Why don't we sit down?" I said.
~~~~~

"So dear, how did you guys meet?" My mom asked.

"Well I was working in the coffee shop I started working at when I got here. And one day he just came in, and we made a connection. Ironically, I made the first move.."

My dad spoke. "Which was?"

"I...uh...put my number on his receipt.." I said, looking at Steven, and he smiled wide.

My mom was smiling. "That's great baby!! You seem genuinely happy."

"I am Mom, I am." I replied.

I looked at my dad. He looked indefinite.

After a couple minutes of awkward silence, my dad spoke.

"How much do you make, Mr. Tyler?" He asked.

Steven looked a little thrown off by the question. But I wasn't. I knew what he was hinting at.

"Don't answer it baby" I said to Steven.

I looked at my dad. "Why do you wanna know Dad?"

He gave me a mean look. "Because, it just seems fishy that you got engaged so quickly...and he has alot of money.."

I was getting angry. "What are you hinting at? That I'm a gold digger? Because that is most definitely not the case Dad...I've loved him for years..."

My dad rolled his eyes. "Yeah okay dear"

I glared. "Well if you must know...I have two bundles of joy in the bedroom"

My dad glared back. "You were pregnant and you didn't think to call the grandparents?"

"I figured if their grandparents were gonna act like assholes they didn't need to know them yet"

"Watch your tone young lady. You're already a whore, don't add sailor mouth to that"

My mom was in shock. "Dan!!!"

"Mom it's fine.."

"No it's not!! Dan! Apologize to your daughter right now!!"

Steven spoke then. "No need Mrs. Mitchell, it's okay..I hate to be unpolite but i would like to ask you to leave if that's okay...and I would like Mr. Mitchell to apologize before the wedding..or he is not welcome there.."

I looked at Steven in shock. Holy shit.

My mom spoke softly. "I am so sorry Heather. I will talk to your father when we leave, because I would really like to be there for my little girl. I love you honey, and ill see you then.." They got up off the couch and headed for the door.

I forced a smile.

"Mr. Tyler, it was great to meet you, I can see you treat her well." My mom said happily.

Steven smiled at her. "It was nice to meet you too, Mrs. Mitchell, you too Mr. Mitchell.."

My dad didn't speak, and I couldn't tell what he was thinking.

"Bye guys" I said as they walked out.

~~~~~
"Uggggggggggh" I growled as soon as they left.
"Didn't I tell ya?" I said to Steven.
"You weren't kidding" he said with a chuckle.
Steven kissed me quick. "And you are the farthest thing from a whore baby" he walked and sat down on the couch.
"I know" I said winking at him.
Just then my phone beeped.
I picked it up. It was a text from my moms phone, but it was my dad.
"Heather, I'm very sorry about what I said...about these past 9 years....I wanna be there for you, for your wedding and I hope you forgive me. I will try to be a better father. I love you"
I started to tear up reading the message.
I typed three words back. "I forgive you."
I wiped my eyes and sat down next to Steven on the couch and put my head on his chest.
"My dad apologized..for everything he's ever done...and he's going to try and be a better father...and come to the wedding.."
Steven looked down at me with a smile.
"That's awesome.." He said.
I sighed and smiled up at him. "Yeah I guess...maybe I can start to have a better relationship with them after all this time..it's a start.."
Steven caressed my cheek. "Better late than never."
I patted his clean chest. "Now I feel better. And we can get married, with nothing holding us back."
Steven smiled that amazing smile. "I'm ready" he said, kissing me.
