Chapter 10: Showtime

When Court and I got back to my apartment, I got a text from Steven that said the limo he rented would be there to pick us up at 8. We had two hours to get fabulous.

"Court we got two hours, are you nervous?"

She laughed. "Not really I just wanna look good for Joe" she winked seductively at me. I rolled my eyes.

Suddenly my phone rang.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Babe" the deep voice on the other end said.

My heart started to pound. "Who is this??"

"Heather tell me you know who this is"

I froze. Jason. How did he get my number when I changed it?

"What do you want?!" I snapped.

"Baby don't do me like that, I miss you."

"Don't call me that. And we're not together Jason. An won't be ever again. You don't know how bad you hurt me. And I'm not gonna let you fuck me over again. Sorry."

I heard him sigh. "Heather...."

I hung up, so he couldn't finish.

Court looked at me weird. "Who was that?"

I sighed. "Jason. It was Jason I don't know how he got my new number."

"Relax are you okay?" Courtney asked me.

"Yeah I'm fine lets just get ready." I replied.

That was the biggest lie I ever told.

After about 2 hours we were ready and we looked sexy. The limo came about 10 minutes after we were done. We had just gotten to the concert venue.

When we approached the bouncer, he let us in right away. I guess Steven told him ahead of time we were coming. Me and Court made our way backstage.

We searched for Steven and Joe. Court saw Joe in the far corner. She left me and walked away.

I felt hands wrap around my waist from behind as she left.

"Hey baby" Steven said.

I turned around and kissed him.

I had to put on a brave face and smiled.

Steven looked at me suspiciously. "Heather, are you okay???"

I looked at him. He was genuinely concerned.

"Um..." I hesitated.

Steven caressed my face. "Are you okay baby?"

"No, I'm not. He called. Jason called me. I don't know how he got my new number, and I'm scared he might find me." I took a deep breath.

Steven looked shocked. "It will be okay Heather. I promise. I won't let anything happen to you. Do you want to do something about it?"

"Like what?"

"I'll go with you down to the police station and we can file a warning report to just let them know about your situation."

I smiled a bit. "Really? You would do that?"

He kissed my nose. "Of course. I love you."

I kissed his lips this time. "I love you too."

"Steven?" It was Joe by the entrance to the stage.

He winked at me and looked over at him. "Yeah bro?"

Joe smiled. "It's show time."

Steven smiled at me.

"Good luck babe." I said, giving him a good luck kiss.

I watched Steven walk away to go do his thing. I smiled. Hopefully everything will be okay. It most likely will, as long as I have Steven by my side.
