Heather's POV
The next morning, Steven and I were ready by noon to visit Jason at the jail.
I sighed heavily.
Steven sighed back. "Don't copy me" I laughed, grabbing his hand as we walked outside to his car.
He chuckled. "I'm just trying to keep you sane and not nervous"
I kissed his nose. "Aw aren't you sweet"
We got into his car and I took a couple deep breaths.
Steven looked over at me. "You ready babe?"
I forced a smile. "I'm getting there" I said with a chuckle.
Going to see Jason at the jail was like reliving a nightmare. I don't know if I can do it. But I have to. I want to marry Steven. So I have to divorce this asshole.
~~~~~~
When we got to the jailhouse, my heart was pounding out of my chest.
Steven turned off the car and grabbed my hand reassuringly. We got out and walked up to the front door and went inside.
The bleary walls made it look like hell. We walked up to the front counter.
Steven spoke, "we're here for an appointment with one of your inmates"
I gave his name and a security guard led us to his holding cell, which made me more nervous. They only gave phone visits to inmates that are dangerous.
"I don't get how Jason's not dangerous" I whispered to Steven as we followed the security guard. When we approached the cell, I could see Jason sitting on his bed, unshaven and exhausted looking.
"Mr. Benson, you have visitors" the security guard said to him.
He mumbled something and got up.
"Heather, baby? Is that you?" Jason said as he approached the front of the cell.
I gulped. "Yeah, it's me."
Steven gripped my hand tight.
Jason smiled at me. "So why are you here, Heather? Come to throw more bullshit in my face??"
"No, you need to do something for me."
Jason laughed. "Hilarious. I ain't doing shit for you."
I sighed. "You have to Jason, I pulled out the divorce papers out of my bag, sign the papers."
Jason looked pissed. "I'm not signing that shit, you bitch. After all this, you still want a divorce? Hell no. I don't get why!!"
I was getting impatient. "You know why Jason..."
He laughed and started to turn away. "I ain't doin---"
Suddenly, I stuck my hands through the bars and grabbed his shirt collar, pulling him up to my eye level. I was pissed.
"Listen you no good piece of shit, you have put me through enough. You know this is what i want, and you're going to sign it. I don't care if you love me, or if you don't anymore, I don't give a fuck, sign the god damn papers so I can finally be free of your bullshit. You have no fucking choice."
Jason looked scared. Good.
"Geezus Heather, I've never seen this side of you, it's sexy." Jason said.
"Shut the hell up Jason, and sign it now."
I held out the pen to him. After a couple moments he took it and with a scowl signed his name. Finally.
"Thanks Jason." I said solemnly.
He forced a small smile, all creepiness and anger gone. "Good luck Heather." I smiled back. Peace.
Steven's POV
As we were leaving the jailhouse, I couldn't help but fucking smile. That was the first time I've ever seen Heather stand up for herself. I hate to agree with that asshole, but it's sexy. And I fucking love her. But now we can get married.
I grabbed Heather around the waist.
Well baby, you know what this means, right?" I smiled seductively.
She laughed. "No what?"
I kissed her long and hard. "We can get married now."
She smiled. "I know. But you know what I wanna do at this moment?"
I laughed. "What babe?"
She winked. "Let's have a wild night. Starting in the bedroom."
I purred. "You really know me, baby. Let's go."
