Chapter 33: Girl or Boy?

Heather's POV

Three more months later

I've been waiting 6 months for this day. The day I find out the gender of our baby.

I pushed up out of bed and walked into the bathroom, trying not to wake Steven.

I turned on the light and looked in the mirror. My stomach was much bigger. Huge even. I couldn't see my feet.

Just then, I felt hands close around my eyes.

"Guess who??" The voice sang.

I laughed. "Is it Steven Tyler?"

"Yes baby" he whispered in my ear.

I turned around and kissed him. "Are you ready for today?"

He smiled. "Of course! We get to find out the gender of our child. Are you ready, sugar??"

I sighed. "Yes, I am. I'm just..."

Steven looked concerned. "Just what babe?"

"I'm just exhausted that's all. This is a lot to carry" I chuckled. Literally.

Steven laughed an pulled me closer. "Its okay babe. It'll be over in three months. Then we have a baby, and we can get married."

I smiled an kissed Steven's nose. "I can't wait. But we should get ready to go. The appointments in 20 minutes."

When we walked into the hospital 15 minutes later, I was getting nervous. I wanted a girl so bad. But, Steven wanted a boy. I decided I would just be happy with a healthy baby.

A nurse led me into a room. "Dr. Kris will be with you folks in a couple minutes."

Steven helped me up on the bed.

I took a breath. "Baby, what if it's a girl?"

Steven smiled. "Then she'll be as beautiful as you."

"A boy?"

Steven chuckled. "Then he'll be as handsome as his father."

I rolled my eyes.

Steven laughed and grabbed my hand.

"Just relax, babe. We're in this together."

A couple minutes later, Dr. kris came in.

"Ah, Heather! You've grown! Nice to see you again Mr. Tyler!"

I smiled at him.

"So Heather, are you ready to find out the gender?"

My heart was pounding. "Yes." Steven gripped my hands tighter.

The doctor lifted up my shirt and spread the jelly substance. He turned on the sonogram machine. He started to move the paddle around. Little images started to come up.

The doctor looked surprised. "Well, it looks like you're having a girl!"

I was so happy. "No way!!" I looked at Steven. He was smiling.

"Oh wait, what's that? I see something else.." The doctor said.

I was shocked. "Wait, what do you mean?"

"There's another image, another baby,..I can see...it's a boy!"

I couldn't breathe.

"Mr. Tyler, Ms. Mitchell, I'd like to congratulate you folks. You're having twins! One girl and one boy!"

Me and Steven looked at each other.

He got up and kissed me. "Wow, baby. We're having twins. Girl and boy! Shit, I'm so happy!"

I was laughing with glee. "So am I Steven. So am I!"

The doctor laughed. "I'll leave you guys alone for a few minutes." He left.

I was giddy. "We have to tell Court and Joe and the guys..."

Steven was excited. "Well, we can tell them at the last show of the summer in 2 1/2 months. We can surprise them baby. That would be awesome!"

I laughed. "Okay Steven. That sounds like a good idea. I hope it goes quick."

Steven kissed my nose. "It will babe."
