Heather's POV
1 week later
"Aww it's okay..mommy's here" I was saying softly to April, as I tried to feed her and get her to stop crying.
"Maybe she wants her daddy" Steven teased as he came in from finishing his shower.
"I highly doubt it" I teased.
Steven pouted. "Well I just did pretty well putting my boy to sleep, not a sound right?" He smiled cutely.
I laughed and rolled my eyes. Just then, my phone rang.
"Here take your daughter please" I said, giving April to Steven.
"Pushy much?" He joked.
I winked.
I walked into the kitchen.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hey sweetheart!! I miss you!"
"..M-Mom???! What the..." I almost yelled.
Steven turned to look at me with concern.
"Mom, why are you calling me? You said you wanted nothing to do with me when I left last year..why are you calling now??"
"Oh honey, I heard you were engaged to that rock star you love...what's his name?"
"Steven Tyler.." Man, news travels fast.
Steven smiled at me at the mention of his name.
"Yes, honey well, I thought me and you're father could come out there, talk a little, just be there for you for the big day.."
I sighed. "Listen, mom, I would love you guys to come...but you know me and Dad aren't getting along...I don't want a fight on my wedding day."
I heard my mother sigh on the other end. "I'll talk to him, make him agree to not start problems..I promise..as long as we can come out there."
"Okaaay..you guys can come. It's in a week, so you might wanna book a flight, get packed...and I guess I'll see you guys when you get out here"
"Oh thanks dear! I love you! See you then!"
"Bye Mom."
I hung up. I let out a huge sigh.
I left the kitchen , walked into the living room and sat down next to Steven.
After a minute he spoke. "So that was your mom?? You never told me much about your parents.."
I chuckled. "Complicated"
Steven smiled that sexy smile. "I think I can take it. Hit me"
I blushed. "Well, I told you I left my hometown? Well after I escaped Jason, and when I was safely over state lines, I called my parents to let then know where I was, and they flipped out on me. They said I was worthless, that's why Jason hit me, and that they were appalled I didn't come to them instead of take care of it on my own. Then they said I wasn't welcome back there, and they wanted nothing to do with me. That was a year ago."
I gulped back tears.
Steven looked upset. "That's terrible baby. Im so sorry...But if you hadn't of gone through that, we wouldn't be together because you wouldn't of come here"
I smiled up at him. "I know"
"So they're coming to the wedding then?"
I took a deep breath. "Unfortunately...I mean, they're my parents and I love them, but they're judgemental....and my dad...I just I don't want problems."
"What about your dad?" He asked.
"Since I was 16, he has tried to abuse me...you know, that way..I always resisted..my mom helped me sometimes...but because he couldn't have me that way, he settled for verbal abuse..for 9 years I dealt with it the best I could...but then I just got sick of it. I was already married to Jason secretly..they didn't know..between him and my dad, I just couldn't take it anymore. So that's when I left. And came out here. To start over."
Steven was staring at me intently.
"You're a strong woman, babe. I already knew that. But I didn't know what you've been through. And now that you told me, it makes me love you even more."
He kissed me hard and passionately.
I pulled back after a minute and smiled.
"Um Steven?"
He smiled. "What?"
"Yeah, April is in your arms."
"I know, geez Heather. What kinda father do you think I am?"
I kissed his nose. "A good one"
He laughed.
"Oh Steven, one more thing..."
I looked down at my knees then back up at him hesitantly.
"Yessssss?"
"You're probably gonna have to meet my parents. Considering were getting married when they're gonna be here."
I chuckled to myself.
He purred softly. "Anything for my firecracker."
I bit my lip seductively. "And don't you forget that."
