"Maybe I'm just crazy,
Maybe I'm a fool.
Maybe I don't know how to love but,
Maybe I do.

Maybe you know more than me but,
This much is true.
This little heart ain't brain of mine say,
We're through with you."

I must not give anything away. I thought. I had been sleeping in this old chair in Harper's room when she Tapped me. I never even knew she was awake. I walked over to her, sat myself down on her bed and hugged her, filling my face with the scent of her hair. Cinnamon and honey. I thought, careful not to accidentally Tap her. A single tear fell from her face and I wiped it away softly.

"James?" She asked.

"Yes?" I replied, curious as to what her question would be this time.

"Are you Lux or Tenebris?" I looked down, not wanting her to see my face. You're gonna give it away! I thought angrily to myself.

"Luxenbris still." I eventually answered. I can't choose yet. It's been a life-long tradition that if the female representative is Luxenbris, the male rep must choose the same Shade, and I don't want to force her into anything.

"Why haven't you chosen yet?" Well isn't someone filled with questions today.

"Because you haven't chosen yet." Technically that's the truth, I thought. Harper looked both excited slightly which caused me to grin, but at the same time, she looked shocked. I understand why.

"So, you'll choose whatever I choose?" She questioned. I nodded, thinking she doesn't need to know why though. Silence filled the room and I had to say something, so I started talking.

"But I have a theory." Shut up you idiot! My mind yelled at me. Harper looked at me concernedly and I tried to smile. She knows you're hiding something. "I think one of you have already chosen." I knew she would think of Shay when I said that. but the truth is, I think Shay has already chosen. Harper is Luxenbris, and my gosh I hope she chooses right.

"Yeah, Shay and I are opposites. So one of us is dark and the other is light, I know how it works." I shift slightly and she notices, but I wasn't sure how much I should tell her. Do you trust her? Yes of course! My mind battled over the secret information. Then tell her before I go insane with all of these secrets! I sigh and oblige by my minds' rules.

"Yes, but I think one of you is still Luxenbris. One of you still have to choose." She looked me directly in the eye and said,

"You think I still have to choose light or dark, don't you?" I nodded.

"One thing I do know is, that if you don't choose, your soul won't stand another split. you must choose by the next full moon." That's the deadline anyway. It's happening today, I wanted to tell her. "When again," I continued, "we will try to get to Heaven. But before you go on any quests for greatness, ow!" She punched me in the arm, laughing. "Anyway, breakfast first." I felt myself breathe nervously and she eyed my suspiciously. I helped her out of bed and we walked up to the roof. I thought of asking her about the night before, but decided not to test my luck. I pulled out my bag two Boost Juices and some Danishes. She eagerly picked up a cinnamon scroll and in between mouthfuls, tried to speak.
