We were currently sitting in McDonald's, again.
Me, Caspar, Howard and David had decided that P.E was not of our best interests. Honestly I could never see myself playing volleyball and I don't think anyone but Ricky and Oliver really enjoyed it out of the group. Harry was still on a trip and hadn't directly contacted anyone but David to update him about where he was and when he'd be back.
Me and Caspar sat on one side of the booth while David and Howard sat on the other side, Howard absorbed in whoever he was texting. "We should do something over the weekend. Especially since it's getting colder out." David said sitting in thought.
We and Caspar were pretty occupied with our McFlurries but David, being broke had a small ice cream cone Howard had bought him after David had begged and whined nonstop. "Like what?" Caspar asked as he had another spoonful of his Reese's ice cream. Personally I though M&M was better but I suppose he could eat whatever he wanted.
"What do you think Gavin?" David asked bringing me into the conversation. "What?" I asked as Caspar and David turned to me. "We're you not listening?" Caspar asked trying to hold back a smile that I obviously saw. He was terrible at hiding his expressions. "Well I don't go around eavesdropping." I said finishing off my McFlurry.
"It's not eavesdropping if you're-" he sighed "Whatever, what do you wanna do over the weekend?" Caspar asked looking at me intently as I gulped nervously, "I don't know. Halloweens coming up." I said trying to help them think of ideas. "We should go to the mall."
Everyone turned to look at Howard, who was still looking at his phone screen before glancing up to see everyone's confused stares. "Like the place where you go to buy clothes and drink coffee with your white friends?" Caspar asked looking confused at the fact his friend was suddenly being weird.
"Well, I mean the schools Halloween Dance is coming up right? And we needs suits if we go and I mean it is a masquerade dance and..." Howard started rambling as we all just stared. "Hopefully my best shooting guard isn't thinking of retiring to the girls team anytime soon." Caspar said making Howard gawk at him, "No! I just thought we might at least try and go to the mall for once." Howard retorted.
"Well we might as well go once and check it out. Besides, I hear there's lots of good food at malls." David added to Howard's statement as Caspar perked up at the sound of food. "What kind of food..?" Caspar asked curiously as David seemed to think of his answer. "Pretzels and frozen yogurt and lots of malls have food courts I suppose." David said as Caspar abruptly stood up.
"What are we waiting for then! Screw school, This place sounds amazing! Why haven't we ever been to a mall before!?" Caspar exclaimed as he dragged me out of my booth as well as David and Howard as he sprinted for his jeep in a Naruto style run.
I ran after him, climbing in shotgun before anyone else could. David and Howard didn't seem to mind sitting in the back though as Howard talked excitedly about how cool the school dance would be this year while we just all agreed with whatever he was saying.
Finding parking at the mall though, that should be a Olympic sport.
I would probably end up walking probably five miles to the entrance. Okay maybe not five miles but my legs told me it was like around five miles and that was reliable information I assure you. "Stop complaining and hurry up, I'll buy you a pretzel if you walk faster." Caspar said punching my arm playfully. "That hurt." I whined, holding my arm as if it were broken.
When we reached the entrance to the mall I'm positive people were staring at us. A emo kid, a gay kid and a over six foot 17 year old walk into a mall, yeah I'd love to hear the punchline to that one. The reason I don't mention Caspar is because he had vanished.
