A/N: Ayooooo, I'm back. Hope everyone has been doing well over the past however much time has passed since you read this book lol. And I've actually got something a little different this time that I'm hoping you'll guys enjoy.

I'm sure a lot of you have figured out how much of a nerd I am by now, so it probably isn't any surprise to you guys that I'm a Potterhead as well. Which leads to this Extra's concept: A Harry Potter one-shot AU!! Because I spontaneously decided to write an HP fanfic after watching the most recent Fantastic Beasts movie XD

You don't really have to know anything about Harry Potter to read this, and I've done my best to keep it a pretty basic concept, considering if I let myself write whatever we'd end up being here for a 50k+ word one-shot which I seriously tried not to do.

But anyways, I hope you guys will enjoy this mini Harry Potter AU (And the song I included in this chapter performed by everyone's favourite character, David (Daithi De Nogla) ♥).

P.S yeah this a/n is really old, from like Crimes of Grindelwald in November old. I procrastinate everything, it happens.

"Hurry up Gavin! The train is going to leave the station without us!" Cynthia called, quickly coming over to drag me towards the train as I waved one last goodbye to my parents with my free hand, my nerves not allowing me to say anything as I simply followed Cynthia on to the train.

It was going to be my first year at Hogwarts, and I could hardly wait to get sorted and start learning magic. I'd been so surprised when I'd gotten the letter that it was all I could think about all Summer, considering I'd grown up never knowing about magic or the fact it existed.

My best friend Cynthia hadn't been surprised, in fact, she'd been a part of a magical family this entire time and never told me. Which was sort of annoying but not really surprising. It was Cynthia after all.

"What house do you think you'll get?" Cynthia asked as we found an empty compartment further back in the train. She'd told me all about the houses already, although I wasn't quite sure I'd gotten the unbiased explanation of the houses. I highly doubted anyone would join the 'Stupid and dumb Gryffindors who have no idea what they're doing all the time' or the 'Evil snakes who secretly work for Satan.' If those were the actual explanations of the houses then I was guessing I should be quite worried.

"I'm not really sure yet." I said honestly, watching as she gave me an annoyed look. "You should come to the best house then. All the best students are in Ravenclaw." She claimed proudly, her mother's sapphire Ravenclaw pin already pinned to her robes, despite having not been sorted yet.

"I dunno, Hufflepuff sounds pretty cool." I shrugged, watching her expression morphed into one of horror. "Gavin you can't go to the rainbows and friendship house! That's- That's-!" Her words died in her throat as she gave me an incredulous look.

Given that reaction, I was honestly considering Hufflepuff now.

The rest of the train ride went much of the same, with Cynthia singing nothing but praises for her family's Ravenclaw house and how only the best of the best could be a part of her house. To be honest, the more I heard about it the less I wanted to join. Not because I thought Ravenclaws would be bad company, but more because one of the Ravenclaws wasn't proving to be the best company.

Cynthia was a great friend and all, but she wasn't exactly considerate or aware of the people around her as much as she was aware of herself.

It pained me somewhat when I thought about the friends I'd left behind when we'd moved from Manchester to Dublin when I was eight. Mainly my best friend Danielle, who I hadn't been able to stay in touch with over such a distance. I vaguely wondered if she was doing alright these days without me by her side. The thought was a sad one, but one I'd grown used to feeling.
