A/n: So I wanted to do something for the 20k reads mark kind of as a thank you for taking the time to read my frankly messy and tragically full of mistakes book. So I have written you this odd, very short, explanation of the 'Minecraft incident' that was kind of mentioned in a chapter (8 I think?).
Caspar P.O.V
"Isn't Minecraft a kids game though. Why can't we just play cod or gta like we normally do?" David asked in slight confusion.
"It's more than that! There's so many different things you can do and build and there's different places to explore and you can build farms and houses and get dogs and cats and-" At this point I started to tune Oliver out as he began to babble on about his game.
We usually always had something to do or play after school but recently we'd gotten bored of GTA 5 and the lack of DLC. We'd been playing weird indie games we'd found on the store yesterday but those typically weren't multiplayer.
"I mean we can give it a chance I guess, it's not like we really had better options anyways." Harry said shrugging as Howard nodded in agreement.
"I call the shiny controller this time." Ricky said quickly as immediately the group burst into conversation, nobody wanting to be stuck with the normal black Xbox controller that Oliver spilled orange juice on once. The buttons had truly never been the same.
I of course had the host's pick on controllers and I stuck with my see-through controller that showcased the wiring and had the best button and joystick movement. Not that I needed the good controller to annihilate anyone at the games I owned.
I walked into my room ahead of the others as everyone settled into their usual spots, Oliver and Ricky slumping into their beanbag chair, David and Harry taking the normal chairs, and Howard and me sitting on the floor.
"How long does Minecraft take to download." I said, going to the shop and hitting the buy button with not much thought, zoning out a bit on the glowing light of the Xbox as the game began to download.
I had stayed up rather late the night prior and now I was suffering the dreaded slow thinking and reaction time I was plagued with every time I stayed up later than usual.
"Shouldn't take too long. We can always go downstairs and get snacks too." Oliver said as immediately everyone turned to look at David; the designated snack person.
"I told you last time that I wasn't going to be the food slave anymore." David said in annoyance, his glare brought out more with his thick rimmed glasses.
However me and Oliver had serious puppy dog eye skillz and he didn't last very long at all, going downstairs to probably make sandwiches or something as the game downloaded. Howard following not long after once he saw how slow the game was taking to download.
"We're off to a good start." I said sarcastically, pulling out my phone to make sure Angie hadn't texted me or anything. She got pissed if I ignored her texts too long. But I was pleasantly surprised to see my notifications clear, although that did raise my suspicions that someone unlocked my phone, but that could be dealt with later.
My texts from Angie sometimes mysteriously disappeared and I had sneaking suspicions that Howard was behind it.
I didn't exactly know why he would delete my texts from Angela but the only real reason I could think of was that he liked Angela or he was seeing her currently, although I refused to believe that he would go for her while I was still dating her. Not that I would mind if I was honest. I was already thinking of breaking up with her after she had started being needy to the point where she was just straight up using me for status.
