Forgiveness-Chap. 11

Tess' (P.O.V.) (3 days later.)

I heard a knock on the castle door while everyone was in the living room, waiting anxiously. Sally sits with Jeff, holding Emma and talking to her. But he just stands in front of the window with arms crossed. I let out a nervous breath and open the door. It's been a while since we've seen each other and Chloe really has really formed into a woman. Her white skinny jeans paired with black wedges and black chevron shirt made me second guess about myself. "Chloe!" I shriek happily. "Tess!" She clasps her hands together and jumps on me, hugging tightly. "Oh my gosh, I've missed you so much!" We both shriek and laugh. Chloe calls Liu and Lizzie in. Liu comes in, smiling his pearly teeth. Don't worry, I love Jeff. But that man is perfect looking. Also carrying Lizzie who was looking around with curious eyes. "Hey Sis." Liu says in his deep voice to me. "Hey Bro." He picks me up and I shriek. Both of us start laughing when I feel a finger tap my shoulder. Lou mumbled a uh oh and I turn around, seeing Jeff. Arms folded and glaring at Liu. Both of them start gawking at each other which made me feel highly uncomfortable. I clear my throat and my eyes switched back and forth at them. "Hey bleach head!" Liu smiles. "Hey dip head. Leave my girlfriend alone!" Jeff says in return. Suddenly both of them hug tightly with muffled laughter. "I miss you." I hear one of them m!umble. I look back at Chloe, grinning widely. I smiled back. And then my eyes wander to the awkward group in the large living room. Watching with confused looks. "I'll explain later." I mouthed to them and they all nod hesitantly. I watch Jeff and Liu catch up on each other quietly. I felt so happy to see them together. Chloe walks up to my side and rubs my arm quickly. "How are you, love?" Chloe whispers. "Worried." I respond, tears coming quickly. Chloe clicks her tongue and reassures me lovingly. I try my best not to cry when Sally comes up to me, holding out Emma. "Oh thank you so much, Sally. You're the best." I smile at her and she smiles back. "It's a pleasure." The 12 year old hands me Emma and walks away. "She's the sweetest." I whisper staring at sleepy Emma. I glance up at Liu who was staring hard at Sally while Jeff stares off, thinking about something. I looked back at Sally who was playing the grand piano. "Will you please take her?" I ask Chloe. "Yes, of course!" Chloe takes Emma and starts making baby noises. I walk over to Sally and sit next to her on the piano bench. She still plays and doesn't look up. I look at Liu, still staring at Sally. Him and Jeff suddenly walk into stained glass office closing the door behind them quietly. "You play beautifully." I compliment Sally. "Thanks!" She replies and stops. She gets closer and whispers in my ear, "Why is he staring at me?"

"You know, I have no idea. But I'll find out." I walk to Chloe and grab her hand. "Come with me." I whisper and drag her along. I went through the glass door to his office. Still dragging Chloe along. Then through many doors we got to the grand dining room. And again, through many doors, we got the reading room, which was where they were. Chloe and I hide behind the door, listening to their conversations. Jeff hushed Liu, "Okay yes that's her, Liu. That's our sister." I heard Jeff clear his throat hesitantly. There was a moment of silence. I look at Chloe and gave her a who's-their-sister? look. It can't be Sally. She just shrugs and we continued to listen. "So you're saying that Sally is our sister? Jeff, she's been missing ever since you.." Then Liu stops talking and I hear quiet crying. Liu keeps on talking. "So you mean you hid her after you killed them?" Chloe looks so confused. I look around the door and see Jeff pinch the top of his nose. He shook his head and explained. "She doesn't know. But I took her everywhere with me, especially to Maria's. But no one knows about it. I cared for her."

"But you obviously don't care for our parents! I mean, for goodness sake's! You killed them Jeff! You're mostly the reason why Jane's coming after us! She went insane after you killed her parents!" Liu screeches at Jeff. All I could see is Jeff flinching and holding a hand to his, hiding his guilt. I run in. "Okay let's stop! Jeff, what you did was more than awful. But you couldn't control it at the time. So Liu quit! And I thought you forgave him for that!" I stare at Liu, who has his muscular arms folded and wasn't looking at me. "Look you two, lets figure this out and officially forgive each other. Please... It's the past. And I guess that is a hard thing to forgive, Liu. But please... we have no time for this. We have something demented and evil coming after my child." I begged. Chloe mutters something to Liu, which I couldn't make out. "C'mon Jeff." Liu mumbles. They both walk outside to the porch when I shook my head and started crying. Chloe and I sit on the couch and hug each other. "I sometimes don't know what to do, Chloe. I just want it to end. But he never told me that he killed Jane's parents." I put my hands on my face... Wondering if my life will have a good ending. Chloe hands me a tissue and dries my wet face. "Thanks." I mumbled. "I hate how you wear no makeup and you're still gorgeous." Chloe grinned at me. I roll my eyes and laugh. "Thanks ginger." I patted her knee and it was about ten minutes later when I looked outside the corner window. I see both Liu and Jeff laughing and smoking a cigar. "Well, I guess that turned out well." Chloe muttered as she walks to my side. "Yeah I guess so." I nod. Boys are so strange, I thought to myself. "So, shall we get started?" Chloe beams at me with her hands on her hips. "Yeah. Why not?" I slightly smiled. "Why don't you get Liu and I'll get Jeff?" I told Chloe. She nods and gets Liu. Both of them walk in and stand there. "Hey actually, why won't you two go in the living room? I gotta go talk to Jeff." Liu looks at me worried while Chloe drags him along. I fold my arms and walk outside to see him still smoking a cigar. I just simply look at him while he looks down shamelessly. "Jeff, why didn't you tell me she was your sister? And also... Let me see... That you killed Jane's parents? Look I understand that you couldn't control it. But let's be more honest in this relationship, okay?" He just nods and sighs deeply. I walk to him and sit on his lap, stroking his leather feeling face. He shuts his eyes and I see tears run down his cheeks. I sighed and wiped them away. "You are one emotional man. How about you tell me everything later about Sally and Jane and I'll tell you everything later about Liu?" I laughed quietly. He nods quickly and hugs my torso, his head nestled into my neck. I listened to him breathe me in. "I love you, Tess. Thank you for forgiving every wrong I have done." He rumbled. "I love you, Jeff. And I will always forgive you. No matter what." I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him in closer. "I love you. So much... More than you can imagine..." I kissed the top of his head, tasting his shaggy hair. And sighed deeply into him.
