{Chapter 14}

I felt so good even thought I was tingly. I flew around a little and landed softly on a tulip. I knew it was completely normal for me though, because the vibes I was getting from it said so. I went inside the structures flower to find another being in it already.

"Hello Tyler." I smiled at him. I had seen him before in my dreams, but I didn't exactly want him in this one. I would rather be seeing Redd.

"What do you think you're doing here? You've already ruined me, why ruin my dreams?"

"You think you're dreaming? Hah. Persephone, you've always been irritant."

"You mean to say arrogant. What do you mean I'm not dreaming?"

"I'm still calling you dumb either way. You got in a car crash, remember? You're in a coma."

My mind raced to the accident. Redd's worried eyes staring into mine and the blood coming from my side. Why didn't I feel pain? I only felt numb and tingly. This didn't matter to me, what mattered was Tyler.

Tyler was never rude to me in this way before. I couldn't believe he spoke to me like this, it wasn't him. But a coma?

"I can't be in a coma. I'm just dreaming. I am asleep and dreaming. Tyler, you're lying to me."

"You know how I said I love you? I was lying then. Remember when I said I'd always be there for you? Well, I lied at that point in time as well. The only thing is that right now, I'm not."

(Redd POV)

I raced down the hallways to get to Persephone. Parker was such a good brother for letting me see her. I'm sure he knows how much I like her. I just wanted her to be okay. I couldn't keep her off of my mind.

I walked through the doorway into a white room, very similar to Parker's, but it was filled with chairs. No one was in the room, so I sat near a potted plant. I wasn't a very patient person, but I'd already been waiting two hours to see her. I glanced at the clock.

It was almost 10:00 p.m. already. I had really been waiting for around six hours. Another hour was nothing.

At least I thought so.

I swear I almost paced a trench in the floor. The only thing that stopped me was Jake who had came in through the door. He had gone to the 24-hour cafeteria to get something to eat. We talked for a little while and showed each other what we'd bought at the mall.

As I was beginning to tell Jake about the bracelet I'd gotten Persephone, a nurse came out and cut us off. She told us we were allowed to see her, but had to be quiet and careful. We put on gloves and masks before entering.

All sorts of tubes were connected to machines and at the other end, a being. The floor was seemingly covered in wires. The being that was lying on the bed was peaceful under all the tubes. She seemed so foreign, but was still so beautiful.

"Persephone." I couldn't believe it was her.

"She's stable, but she's in a coma." said the nurse as she walked out of the room.

I heard Jake's footsteps behind me. I turned around to face him. Behind his glasses, I could tell he was trying not to cry, so I walked up to him. I wrapped my arms around Jake in a warm embrace. I wasn't usually so emotional but I had to admit, this girl had me wrapped around her finger.

"You are a great brother Jake. I know Persephone loves you so much."

"Thank you." He looked up at me, attempting not to cry.

"You're welcome Jake."

"I'm sorry for such a crazy day. I'm sure you're tired. Persephone was in surgery for three hours and then poked and prodded more after. She was in the ICU for a while too." I could tell this was all sinking in and it was really starting to bother him.

"I'm going to step out for a bit, okay Travis?"

"Okay."

I walked over to the Persephone laying in the hospital bed and dressed in the hospital gown. I pulled up a chair and sat in it. The only thing that made her seem real was her red hair and the bracelet I'd bought for her. I held onto her hand and started to tell her everything on my mind.

"You have made me feel happy Persephone. I haven't felt happiness in five months. Today was amazing. You looked beautiful, scars and all. I'm glad you wore a short sleeved shirt. It showed how brave and beautiful you are. Thank you for bringing over that honey. It was really good."

I heard footsteps. I leaned over and whispered into her ear.

"Don't forget our date Monday. You have to be better by then."

I still swear to this day that she cracked a smile.
