{Chapter 16}

"You see Mr. Reynolds, Persephone is in a coma. She can come out of it, but we want it to be soon since we are done with surgery. We do have a problem with her blood, though."

"Persephone has lost a lot of her blood, but her mother doesn't have the right blood type and her father can no longer donate blood due to health conditions."

"So why would you need me?"

"Well, you have the same blood type as her. You would only need to donate a normal amount. This hospital just doesn't have the supply of blood, because of its rarity."

I had never donated blood. But I was obviously going to.

"Where do I need to go?"

After fainting and ending up giving more blood than the normal amount, I was led to the waiting room of Persephone. Her father was in the room when I was brought there.

"You must be Redd. Thank you so much for your donation." He shook my hand.

"Yeah, that's me."

"I've heard a bit about you. From Parker anyways. He looks up to you."

I'd never thought that Parker would look up to me, much less talk about me with his father. It makes me happy to think about though.

{Persephone's POV}

I suddenly felt more full in my dream, like something that was missing was being out into me and making me feel more alive.

I ran and jumped into a river with my clothes on. Well actually I didn't know if I had clothes on. I was so submerged in the world surrounding me that I never looked at myself. I could feel a new warmth through my body. I felt so alive.

I burst through the water's surface and pushed my hair back. I blinked away the water in my eyes and looked across the shimmering water. Rayle was standing there, smiling at me. I smiled back and he dove in.

I waited for Rayle to swim to me and not long after he dove in, his now auburn head of wet hair was bobbing next to mine. He grabbed my hands and frowned a little.

"What's wrong, Rayle?" I was confused as to why he looked sad. He was always smiling at me.

"You're going back soon."

"Back? Back where?" I had no idea what was going on.

"Back to your life without seeing me." Rayle seemed very upset.

"Well, I don't know when I will see you after this, but I will make sure our time lasts."

"How so?"

Completely forgetting about Redd, I leaned in with shut eyes and kissed Rayle.
