Dear Dad,
I remember that when we were all kids, Jessi, Kat and I would all make you and Mom gifts or cards when it was your anniversary.
We didn't understand what it was and I don't think you and Mom minded. What we didn't understand was that it was a day for you and Mom; a day for you and her to celebrate staying together (married) for another year and to give gifts to each other. We didn't understand that we didn't have to give gifts or cards to you guys.
I guess we thought it was something like Mother's and Father's Day in one..
