"James!" Austin yelled, Trish and I weren't far behind him. We picked up Dez on the way too. James was sat with the populars, they all were staring at Austin and whispering about him.
Austin stopped where James was and we stopped a few meters away. James stood up and faced Austin. "Yes?" He asked with a smug look on his face. As much as I want him beaten up, I didn't want Austin to be the one who actually did it.
"I know what you're doing. Trying to toy with Ally so you can break her heart. That's sick." He yelled, taking a step forward towards James. Austin's fists were clenched, like he was about to hit James. If Austin gets into trouble, his parents won't let him play music anymore.
"Now, why would I want to break Ally's heart? I care too much." He said, pretending to be innocent.
"You don't care for Ally. You don't respect her. You don't even want her. The only thing you care about is yourself." Austin said in a threatening tone.
James laughed. "Calm it superstar. What you going to do about it? Hit me? Beat me up? That won't make Ally fall in love with you. If I remember correctly, you were mean and vile to her when you first got here. I apologised like a nice person, you only want her for her songs." He smirked.
Before anyone could do anything else, I ran up to Austin and put my hand on his shoulder. He felt tense, but softened a bit when he turned around.
"Austin, just forget it. He's not worth it." I said quietly. Then I took Austin's hand and pulled him away.
We travelled about 3 steps when Austin spun around and punched James in the face. I screamed, mostly because it scared me.
Austin lept on top of James and was smacking him in the face but then James started hitting Austin's chest and thumped him in the face that made him fall off James. James now climbed on top of Austina and was smacking him in the face. A circle of students who were interested in this fight gathered around us all. A few were filming it. If the world saw this, it would give Austin a bad name. Trish, Dez and I exchanged a look of horror and instantly pulled the two fighers apart. Trish and I had hold of Austin while Dez held James back.
Trish and I walked Austin to our lunch space as Dez walked James back to the populars. Austin and James were shouting curse words to each other as we dragged them back.
Trish and I threw Austin against a wall and stood in front of him.
"What the heck is wrong with you?!?" Trish yelled. Austin was breathing heavily and there was a small cut on his lip where James had punched him.
"He's being a-" He started to say but Trish wasn't in the mood for excuses.
"I don't care what he is! You're getting out of control! Yelling and fighting with him won't solve anything!" Trish said loudly.
I tried to talk, to give Austin a piece of my mind, but nothing came out. I was still getting over the whole Austin starting a fight thing.
"He started it! By being a jerk to Ally!" Austin yelled defensively. Why isn't he calming down? Trish looked at me with a You try, I give up look, then walked off to find Dez.
"Austin," I finally said. "this isn't you. I don't like this Austin, I like the other Austin. The one who loves stuffed animals and pancakes with smiley faces." I tried to remember what he'd told me in the past. I began to tear up thinking about all these memories. He didn't seem so tense now, and his fists weren't clenched.
"Ally it's not my fault, I have to act like this beca-" He began to say but I didn't let him finish.
"You don't have to act like this. I appreciate you sticking up for me and everything and I realise that you care for me but I don't like it when someone I love is scaring me by fighting." I said as a tear escaped my eye.
"Because of him, you're crying." He said, a dark cloud thundering his eyes. He clenched his fists again. What is he not getting?!
"He's not making me upset. You are!" I cried, looking at him straight in the eyes before running off to the girls bathroom. It's the only place where no boys can upset me. I ran into a stall and cried. Luckily there was no one in the bathrooms so it's not awkward.
At my school all the students 'go' during lessons so they can miss out on work, hardly ever at break and lunch.
"Ally! Are you in here?" I heard Trish call as I heard the bathroom door open. I slowly unlocked the stall door and stepped out.
"My gosh, Ally don't cry." Trish said in a comforting voice as she engulfed me in a hug. She suggested that we talk about it, so we did. We shared comments about Austin and the last few minutes.
We slowly made our way outside onto the field again. Trish went to explain everything to Dez, but she told me to sit down and eat something. I did feel a bit woozy, but I thought that was just because I was scared. The pain kept growing inside of me. Then my head began to throb. I'd better take Trish's advice and eat, but that didn't help.
I should see the school nurse. I stood up and walked about 2 steps before I doubled over in pain. I winced. Then I heard Austin's voice. "Ally!" He sounded worried. I faintly saw him running over to me, before I blacked out. Right there.
