This is by far the stupidest plan you've ever had. Of course I'm in.

The camp was low on food ever since the meat house burnt down. Everyone was hungry and berries weren't cutting it anymore. I walked over to Bellamy, who was standing at the front gate waiting. He had suggested we go out and survey the area, see if we can kill something to eat.

He didn't want anyone else to go, the more people there are, the more people could get hurt, he said. I agreed to come with him, because I needed food as much as the next guy.

"Gun?" He asked, holding up the one that was slung around his shoulders. I lifted up the side of my shirt to reveal the pistol in my pants.

"Alright good. Let's go." He signaled up for the people to open the gates. When they did, we slipped through and started on our trek.

About an hour later, we'd come up with nothing and I was tired, so I suggested we take a break. Bellamy was hesitant, but I managed to convince him.

We sat in a small clearing, leaning against some huge oak trees to get some shade. I looked to the side as Bellamy messed with his canteen. I slapped his side dramatically and pointed between two trees that led to a huge clearing, with a stream and everything. Sipping from the stream was one of the mutant deer. The perfect meal.

Bellamy slowly stood up, but the deer stopped drinking and looked in our direction. Bell froze in place, we couldn't afford to lose this deer. He motioned for me to get up when it started drinking again. I stood slower than Bellamy had, yet the deer still looked up.

"I have an idea," he whispered in my ear, "You're lighter, so climb up the tree and shoot it. If you fall, I'll catch you."

I thought for a moment before turning towards him, "This is by far the stupidest plan you've ever had. Of course I'm in."

I started to climb the tree, freezing whenever the deer looked over. Eventually I made it to a spot where the leaves opened up so I could get a clear shot, but the branch I was perked was not steady at all. Under my weight, it could snap at any second, but food was worth it.

I quickly took out my pistol and aimed at the deer, closing one eye to get good aim. I took the shot, hitting it right in the head. The knockback rocked the branch until I heard it snap and felt myself falling.

I squealed as the air flew past me and I hit Bellamy's arms with a grunt.

"You okay?" He asked, setting me down.

"Yea, just shaky." I mumbled, getting my footing. I looked up to see the broken branch and I frowned.

"That was a high fall." He spoke my thoughts, "Now let's get that deer back to camp."

"Don't ever let me do that again." I yelled after him while he jogged up to the deer, and I quickly followed behind him.

"Probably for the best." He smirked.
