While we were in space, we had to take a class about Earth. They taught us about the many the quirks it had and so on. What they never did teach us about, though, is the temperature. Sure, we got a little information here and there, but we never really learned about it. I really wish I prepared myself for this kind of heat. I really wish they taught us more about Earth in general.

We really needed food, considering we landed so far from Mt Weather and had no idea how to even get food. Bellamy, who seemed to establish himself as the leader, got together a group of people to go hunting with. Since I was a weapons expert back on the Ark, he chose me to come along with some of his pals.

I wasn't too thrilled about this, but when a guy with a gun asks you to do something, you usually should say yes. That brings us to the middle of the forest on a scalding hot day, wandering around.

"We should turn back." I told the group for the third time. I was starting to feel really dizzy, and we ran out of water about a mile or so back.

"Just a little while longer, we only got enough food for a quarter of the people there." Bellamy used his commanding voice. He walked right behind me, watching the group over.

"Bellamy, we really should head back." I urged.

"No means no, (Y/N), we aren't going back until we have food." He commanded, making a shiver go down my spine even in the intense heat. Bellamy and his gun really scared me.

I kept my mouth shut and kept trudging on. Everything was starting to get a bit hazy, but I didn't dare speak up again.

"Hey, (Y/N), you okay?" One of the boys Bellamy picked to come with us asked me. I absentmindedly nodded, too focused on trying to walk to even think about what he said.

"You don't look so great, are you sure you're alright?" The boy's voice came again. I shrugged off his concern, his words not even registering in my brain. I went to nod again, but instead the world went fuzzy and I saw the sky above me.

I darted my tongue out to lick my lips, they were cracked and dry. I let out a little moan, my body ached.

"(Y/N)?" A voice I couldn't quite place asked.

"Hmmm?" I hummed, shifting my weight around.

"(Y/N), come on, open your eyes!" Oh. I knew that voice. It was Bellamy. I frowned, but opened my eyes.

I wasn't in the heat anymore, and it was darker than outside. In fact, it was kind of cool. I looked around, but couldn't make out much in the dark. I sat up, leaning back and propping myself against a wall, "What happened?"

"You fainted...straight into my arms. You know, if you wanted my attention you didn't have to go to such extremes." Bellamy's cocky voice echoed in what I assumed was a cave.

I scoffed, "You wish, Blake. Where are we?"

I saw his darkened outline shrug, "Some cave I found. I sent the others back to camp to get some help."

"Why'd you stay?" I reached up and rubbed my eyes.

"I wouldn't trust any of those guys to watch you. You deserve better." He said as if it were a simple fact.

I stayed quite, but silently thanking god that the cave was dark so he couldn't see my smile.
