Where's the paint supposed to go?

I mixed the gooey mixture we were calling paint in the little tin can they gave me. A small twig with hair tied onto it counted as a paint brush, too.

"The paints supposed to go where?" I asked into the walkie talkie. I was out by the bridge connecting us to the grounder's land. I had to paint an X exactly where Raven's make shift bomb would go, but Bellamy wasn't giving very clear directions.

"I told you, Five feet from the third tree on the right when you walk into the bridge. And hurry up, I don't want you out there as long as your being." He replied into the walkie as I sighed and went back to the beginning of the bridge. I counted the trees until I hit the third, then I went over and stepped five times. The spot was off to the side and seemed like it wasn't going to be very effective.

"This doesn't look right, though, Bellamy." I spoke into the talkie again.

I heard the agitation in his voice as he spoke, "That's what Clarke measured last time she was out there, just paint the X and get back here."

"The last time she was out there she was attacked by their tribe leader and almost killed." I pointed out.

"Then pick a spot! Just come back already! I can't believe you let her go out there alone, Clarke!" He spoke, apparently forgetting to stop holding the speak button down.

I frowned, but still placed the X where Clarke and Bellamy had instructed. I'm sure they had good reasoning, whatever it was. I tossed the goop of mushed berries aside and began my treck back to camp.

"All good guys." I muttered into the Talkie.

"Good, now get out of there!" Bellamy urged, causing a small smile to form on my lips.
