The other night I was thinking about sacrifice as I deleted my Netflix app from my kindle.
You see when I went to church camp about 2 years back we were to ask God what we needed to sacrifice. And I felt that it was Netflix so I did that. Sometimes I slip up and downloaded just for a few days. But last night I was thinking of the many examples of sacrifice in the Bible like the Jesus's disciples giving up their lives to follow Him, Abraham willing to give up His sons Life, Etc. But the greatest sacrifice of all was Jesus dying on the cross for us. What an amazing sacrifice. He shed blood for us,so the we may live in harmony with Him.
That brought me to what I need to sacrifice in my life to stay close with God, my friends ,and family. The sacrifices I've made have brought me great joy and has gotten me one step closer in my Walk with the Lord.
So think about this today what do you need to sacrifice. Whether it's sacrificing your job for your family for a few days or all together. Whether it's putting down your phone to go help you parents or whoever you live with. Maybe it's getting off of Netflix to go hang with your friends. Or maybe stopping what your doing to be still in God's presence or doing your homework. Whatever it is can bring you great joy and maybe get you something better like stronger relationships with the people you love, a stronger faith in God, or just bringing a smile to others faces. Ask God what He wants you to sacrifice today.
Proverbs 16:18-19
Pride goes before destruction and haughtiness before a fall.
Better to live humbly with the poor than to share plunder with the proud.
