Yesterday at church, my youth leader spoke something so true. She said that all of us have to be ourselves and not to pay attention to the people who make us want to change ourselves. This spoke volume to me because sometimes I get many weird looks for just being me. Sometimes those looks make me insecure like I have to change myself. Like I have to get the person who despises me to like me.
I know most of you girls and guys out there might've dealt with this before. You may even have friends who change you in a bad way. That is not what God wants for us. He wants you to be you, and to not pay attention to the people who are trying to drag you down. Don't let the things of the past year bring you down. Give those things to God, and He will give you His peace and understanding. Just be you. Others may not like you for who you are, but take this to heart. Because you are being yourself you could be inspiring to someone else who may need those quirky or weird things to get them through the day. God not only calls us to be loving and to share His words. He calls us to be ourselves because we are the only ones who can be who we are. So don't let the haters or the people of this world effect you, and if they ask God to help you to ignore them.
