It is said that God speaks in many ways, and usually not in the way that it is expected. That is so true. God will speak to you in the way He can get your attention the most,which has taken me time to understand that. See the things I don't like the most are silence and darkness. This past week God spoke to me through the silence. Now it wasn't like a big booming voice shouting at me or even a soft whisper. I was just sitting quietly on my bed humming, and I just started thanking God by singing. I starting making up words as I went along and I was given some really powerful lyrics through them.
It was like God spoke to me through my talents through the silence. The thing is, I had been praying and praying and asking God to reveal my talents to me. Through that moment he showed it to me, and I was so overjoyed. I felt like I was to just sit/ dance there in the silence some more just singing. It was amazing. It just shows you that God can speak to you in any way. Through His word, in your dreams, through another person, and it's usually in a way you least expect it. I saw this quote from a devotional and it basically said that the Jews were expecting a military Jesus but they got baby Jesus instead. This shows how God works in mysterious ways, but it all works for the better. In the end Jesus was able to make the ultimate sacrifice, and pay for our sins. Would He had been able to do that if He came in the world as Military Jesus?
If you are wanting to hear from God just pray and ask. He will show up, just believe it. It may not be when or how you want it, but Jesus will show up.
