Save Me

Chapter 8

Leilani put her hand over her mouth and violently shook her head. It couldn't be. They couldn't have found her this easily. Not after trying her damn best to hide and stay hidden. Not now when she had a pup to look after. She put her hands over her belly protectively before looking down at Corbin. This was all her fault. He was hurt because of her. He was probably gonna die because of her. She again shook her head vigorously and put her hand against his chest. No one would die because of her.

"The Moon grants her children life." she whispered softly before power coursed through her chest, burning a path down to her hands, and into Corbin's chest. Corbin let out a blood curtling scream as the power burned a path through his body, healing everything that was broken. Leilani was a vessel to the great powers of her moon goddess. She fixed her children when they were wronged, and Corbin was definitely wronged today.

Leilani felt someone touch her cheek and then retreat quickly after being shocked. Her power would burn anyone it wasn't healing. It was a way to protect herself while she was using her attention and body to heal others. Once Corbin was fully healed Lani pulled away from him. She smiled when she noticed that he was healed, no scars were left behind just his bloodied clothes. Corbin looked was peacefully sleeping so he could recover from the shock his body had just received.

"Lani? Leilani?!" she looked up when she finally heard Liam yelling her name. How long had he and the pack doctor been standing there staring at her? Did they see her fix Corbin? She had no doubt that they had seen the whole thing. She hadn't exactly been hiding it anyways.

"Yes?" she asked and she was surprised at how dead and empty her voice sounded. Liam's expression went completely blank as he stared at her.

"What did you do to him?" the doctor lady asked. Leilani looked at the doctor and the doctor flinched.

"I saved him. We need to make sure the borders of our territory are scouted more often. Women, children, and teenagers have a curfew and cannot go anywhere without having protection with them. People stay in-" Leilani didn't get a chance to finish because the doctor had the audacity to interrupt her.

"With all due respect Luna, I do not believe you are capable of giving out orders right now." Dr. Alexis Frost made anger course through Leilani at the obvious disrespect she was showing. It wasn't a good thing if Leilani couldn't control her powers. They were just too...powerful. Leilani stood up from where she was and glared at Alexis.

"Dr. Frost. I am more than capable at giving orders right now. I am the only one here who knows who the fuckers we are dealing with are! I know exactly what they are capable of! Unless you want to see everyone you love slaughtered you will shut the fuck up and listen to your Luna!" Leilani growled as her power literally swirled around her form like a small tornado. She was beyond angry right now. She could not believe that those idiots had found her. Her life had been going so well. She had been so careful. Dr. Frost bowed her head in submission to Leilani, picked Corbin off of the floor and left to the infirmary.

"FUCK!" Leilani growled and punched the nearest wall to her. The wall crumbled under her fist, leaving a small hole. She grabbed her belly protectively as the baby moved within her making some of her anger disappear. She closed her eyes as tears escaped her eyes. Now was definitely not a time to be crying.

"Baby, don't cry. I'll take care of this. I promise." Liam whispered as he wrapped Lani in his arms. Lani burrowed into his warmth and safety, breathing in his soothing scent. She took deep breaths to calm herself before she pulled away to press a kiss against Liam's gentle lips.

"I know Liam. I love you for that, but I need to be involved in this and not be kept locked up in your very well hidden panic room." Liam's chest rumbled with his laughter and his eyes shined. He caressed Lani's cheek lovingly.
