The next few days were spent training everyone in the camp. Lani was restricted to sitting in Liam's office reading over everyone's papers. Her belly had grown significantlly. She was had only been pregnant going on two months now, but in wolf pregnancies that was six months along. Lani gasped as she felt her baby kick hard against her ribs.
'Are you alright, my love?' Liam asked through their mind link. He was outside helping train the women and children at the moment. Although Lani had showed them the moves she wasn't allowed to help, not that she minded sitting and munching on food.
'All is right love, the baby just kicked against my ribs.' she said lovingly to him as she rubbed her belly.
'I'm glad to know the pup is strong, means he's more than likely to be a strong boy for me.' Lani rolled her eyes at Fang's imput.
'My sweet man, just because our pup kicks hard does not mean it is a boy. For all we know it is a girl.' she said, although she did want a boy. Not that she wouldn't love her child regardless. Liam scoffed in her mind and growled at her playfully.
'Have you found anything in the background checks?' he asked seriously. Lani leaned forward on the big black desk chair, her forearms against the large mahogany desk. She fixed her glasses and looked back down at the papers.
'So far nothing. Yet.' she kept looking through the papers until she found something she didn't like.
'What is it love?' Liam asked feeling her distress. She showed him what was in her mind. This matched the people the men usually used. Riley Green. He was brand new. His background was so clean. He was a teacher at the high school. He lived simply. What was strange, that stood out to Lani, was that he owned several guns, knifes and fast cars. It wasn't unusaul for a teacher to own things like that but it was the price that was unusual. This man would definitely not have money for that. And Lani had seen something toi similar before.
'Liam, I am not sure if this is the man we are looking for but please be careful and keep a close eye on him.' he sent her reassurance through their link and she smiled. He was already warning his beta and enforcers. Lani grabbed another paper from the pile and almost fainted. A swirl of fear and anger took over her body.
The man in the picture was one of the men who had been there when her family was so brutally murdered. When she was taken. She recognized that blond shaven hair. The dark brown eyes. The scar above his left eyebrow. The straight line that was his mouth. She heard Liam growl loudly outside. An angry growl that vubrated through the whole house. Labi took her glasses off and quickly made her way downstairs. Liam was struggling to keep Fang at bay as he stood in the field beside their home. Even as she stood in the doorway of the house, and he in the middle of the field, she could see his body shaking. Fur would sprout then disappear. Lani walked towards him, feeling his power stronger and stronger.
"Liam." she whispered his name as she finally reached him.
"I...am going to kill that man." he said in a gravelly tone. Lani cupped his face in both of her hands and kissed his cheeks softly.
"My love. We need this man alive. We need answers to questions we both have. Please." he stared at her with his dark angry eyes. Lani felt the need both Liam and Fang felt to kill this man, but they knew she was right. They knew they needed the information. Liam shook his head violently before turning to look at Carter, his Beta.
"Bring me Riley Green. I don't care if it's nit so gentle." Liam growled and Carter nodded before jogging away. Lani closed her eyes and begged the moon goddess to give her mate a patience he will not have for this man...and to give her strength not to kill him.
