Leilani had spent hours outside with Koven just chatting away as they were demanded to make a meal for the group they were with. Lani was glad that Paul hadn't come back to get her yet. He was so out of control and she didn't want to risk him hurting her precious baby.

"No!" Lani laughed loudly and wiped the tears from her eyes. She put a hand against her belly and looked at Koven.

"Yes! Believe me I had no idea what it was so I ate the entire jar, my mouth was burning for the next couple of days." Koven smiled as he finished telling a story about the time he ate an entire jar of jalapeños thinking they were fruit.

"You poor thing." Lani chuckled. She rubbed at her belly and Koven looked down at her sadly.

"I will help you two get out of here." He promised and Lani touched his forearm softly.

"Thank you." She said sincerely and he only nodded his head.

They sat there quietly and stared at the ground. Lani felt horrible for the things Koven had been through, the universe could be so unfair. She promised to herself to get him safely out of here too. She had learned that he didn't have a family anymore, nor a pack to go back home to. he had lost them all the day he lost his sister. A great tragedy. Her pack would accept him, he would be more than welcome to stay with them and live his life there. She was ripped away from her thoughts when her stomach tightened in pain. She gasped as her hands went to her belly.

"Are you okay?" Koven asked as he leaned over her. He growled low in his throat as he realized her water broke. The pain went away as quickly as it had come.

"The baby will be here soon." She said as she took deep breaths.

Liam's POV

Liam felt a great pain in his abdomen and he had a sick feeling that something was wrong with his Lani. He looked at his best friend who was seated across from him.

"The baby." Was all that was said before they were racing out of the house.

'Everyone who can fight is needed now! Jesse, Calvin, and Morin have your men watch the women and children. All women and children should report to the pack house. Now! Now! Now!' Liam growled out orders as he raced to get outside, the need to be with his mate stronger than ever before. Clothing ripped and skin shredded into fur as soon as the front door opened. Fang now took the lead as he took off towards where he knew Lani was located. Another stabbing pain wrenched in Fangs gut, he stumbled yet kept his stride as the pain left just as quickly. He knew Leilani was feeling it worst than he was, and there was nothing he could do about that yet.

'What's the plan, Alpha?' Carter asked. Fang only growled in response and ran even harder towards his family. How could have ever let her get in harms way? He should've protected his mate and his pup better. This  should have never happened. She shouldn't be about to give birth in a group of strangers after she had been kidnapped. She should be surrounded by family, people who loved her.

'Now is not the time to feel sorry for ourselves Fang! Focus! Get to her. Protect her. Do what you can now. We cannot worry about things we can not undo.' Liam reasoned with his wolf, something he had never had to do. Fang was always the reasonable one, smart and strategic. Always calm, which defied the definition of being a wolf.

He ran as hard and fast as he could, and when he could hear the voices screaming ahead of them, he pushed himself harder. When they reached the cliff Fang jumped down, growling at the hard impact with the ground. The men around him quickly shredding their human form and turning into their wolves, coming at Fang and his men. Fang fiercely attacked as he tried to look around and find his Lani. His gut wrenched as he heard her painful yell cone from within the cave. A dark grey wolf stood in front of him, growling menacingly. The wolf snapped his teeth at Fang and Liam laughed in his head as Fang easily grabbed the wolf by the throat and broke it's neck. He took off towards the cave, his men watching his back as wolves tried to attack him. It was dark and cold in the cave, quiet. He was surprised at how empty it was as he went further, but he remained vigilant nontheless. There was a pressure building in his ears as he walked further and further. He sunk lower to the ground as he got closer to the noises and lights in the back. Water was dripping down from above him and he flattened his ears against his head.

"FANG! Watch out!!" Lani yelled, but it was to late. Something hit Fang's right side hard. He wheezed as he was thrown forward. What the hell was that? He looked around and was surprised at what he found. It was a sort of artillery making area. The bullets full of wolfsbane and silver they had around them. Fang sneezed as the burning smell of wolfsbane reached his nose. His eyes watered as he looked around, frantically trying to find his Lani. He spotted her further back near the piles of bullets. Paul was holding a knife to her throat as she clutched at her belly. She grunted and looked him in the eye as another wave of pain hit her. Fang let out a ferocious growl as he tried to figure out a way to get Lani out without hurting her. Her breathing was shallow and labored.

"Paul, you need to let me go."she pleaded and it tore at their heart. Their mate should never have been put in this position.

"Let you go? I traveled miles and took years trying to find you! If you had just listened you wouldn't be here anymore!" Paul spit angrily as he drew the tiniest drop of blood from Leilani's throat. Fang growled his anger and stepped closer.

"Don't you dare mutt! I'll kill her before you could reach me!" Fang shook his head as the burning in his eyes and nostrils grew more intense and he knew someone was burning more wolfsbane. There was a slight movement to his left side and Fang reacted just as the brown wolf lunged at him. He ducked but the wolf got a hold of his right ear as he flew over him. He whine before grabbing a mouth full of fur. The other wolf whined and they tumbled as the bit and tore at each other. Fang was ruthless. His mate was in danger. Fang knew Liam was deeply connected with Leilani at the moment but it was really hard to not look her way. He saw Paul drop her to the floor and take off towards the outside of the cave. Fang lunged towards him but was pulled back as the other wolf grabbed a hold of his right ankle. The wolf shook its head, tearing skin and muscle.

'Kill him!' Liam shouted and Fang did. He bit down on the wolf's neck as soon as he had a chance, taking a strong hold and shaking. The wolf went limp and Fang let go. Taking a breath as he was prepared to go after Paul, but Lani's pain filled scream stopped him. She was sitting on the ground clutching at her belly. Fang let Liam take over as he shifted back into his human form.

'Lani! Baby tell me how I can help you." Liam said as he ran over and kneeled next to her. She grabbed onto his arm tightly and her face turned a light shade of red as she looked at him.

"He's coming now!" She gritted out. She let out a scream as she widened her legs and pushed. Liam didn't know how to help and he growled in frustration as he wiped at Lani's forehead.

'Paul and two of his men ran. We've got three men down and reinforcements on the way. As well as Dr. Frost.' Carter informed Liam. Liam cursed silently as Lani let out a blood curdling scream and pushed for the final time. Liam's eyes widened as a high pitched cry broke out. He picked up the tiny baby boy and wiped away at his tiny red face.

"He's beautiful." He whispered quietly as he scooted closer so that Lani could see their son. She cried as she touched his cheek. He opened his mouth and searched for the finger. Liam chuckled and put him on Lani's chest.

"What shall we name him?" Lani whispered in wonder. Their son was beautiful. He had all ten tiny toes and ten tiny fingers.

"How about Christopher Daniel Haven?" Leilani gasped as Liam spoke. She felt more tears in her eyes form as she let out a sob. What a great honor it would be to name their son after her courageous brothers. She nodded frantically and touched Liam's face tenderly.

"Thank you. Thank you for everything." She smiled and hoped to the Goddess that their child came to no harm. Gods help those who tried.
