Chapter 12: Hail to the Princess, wait what?

A man wearing red plate armor and holding a halberd saw us and yelled “The Highnesses are back!”

“Highness? You guys are royalty?” I asked.

I am, so is Angie, and Lawrence is… meh,” said Lucy as she did the so-so sign. I was awestruck, Angie's royalty?! I followed Angie and drifted to the castle, with my mind still trying to process everything.

I closed in on the shed, suddenly two glowing eyes stared out. I jumped when a hellhound burst out barking at me. The thing was huge; it was as big as a SUV.

“Sniffs! SIT!” yelled Angie, and the hellhound immediately sat. I guess that it was the hellhound Angie told me about just now. As we walked through the corridors, I talked to the guys on how big the entire castle was. The place was huge! The corridors themselves were big enough to fit two elephants. But if there were elephants, they would have crushed the servants that constantly stop to greet the twins. We went up a grand stairway that curved into the second floor, we arrived in front of a large double door. The room inside was huge; there was a big triple bunk bed in the left side of the room. The one on the bottom was like a normal bed, with pillows, bed sheets, and all. The one on top was light red and had two Plushies on top; both were teddy bears, one black and one white and the one on the top was all black, save the red pillow.

Angie pointed to the lower one and said “This is where Lawrence sleeps, you’ll be sleeping with him, or if you brought a bed roll, it would work too, if you don’t like sharing the bed,”

Lawrence turned to me and said “Pish, posh, I don’t sleep anymore, I’m dead! Well, I learned how to not sleep from the servants,”

Lucy pointed to a large cupboard and said “You can put your stuff there,” and opened the door, the inside was really spacey, it was like a room in a room, the clothes were hung on cloth hangers on metal poles, there was an empty one at the far back I grabbed a few cloth hangers and hung my clothes there.

The rest of the day went through pretty well. I got to know stuff, like Angie and Lucy had an older sister and younger sister. The parents were pretty nice, but I was a bit scared of Angie’s dad because he told me, “If you hurt my Angie’s heart, I’ll…”

He let the threat hang because his wife walked by and told him to go for lunch. He took one last look at me and sliced his finger across his neck. Lunch was pretty good, there was normal food, but I avoided what seemed to look like grilled spiders and the so-called Goat Suprise.

The day went by pretty fast, soon it was bed time. I slept in Lawrence’s bed, he was right, the bed wasn’t even touched, and how he doesn’t sleep bugged me, Buster leapt on the bed and curled up beside me.

I thought about what I've left behind, sure, I'm dead and all but I felt like I pushed it away a little bit too quick. I never found out what happened to my cousin, how my uncle got here and why did the book I had brought me here and why am I not a little bit freaked out about all of this...Whatever...I'll find out soon enough.
