Chapter 2: Things just get weirder

It was a week since the incident, after wandering around town with the same tugging feeling that I couldn't explain, spooking hobos and scaring children in carriages along the way. I came across this weird blue D on one of the walls at the end of a back alley a couple blocks down the street across the convenience store. The back wall of the alley was covered with graffiti and all sorts of colorful language. Yes, I punned. One of them stood out to me the most, at first glance it looked like generic graffiti, but it wasn't. It glowed with energy like magic. I looked at it and touched it, and then something unexpected.

The D rippled on the wall and the illustration of flames around it began to move, the gap in the D began to swirl like a blue slushie, and when I tried to retract my hand, I couldn't. I then heard the distant sound of bald eagles, then a massive claw with rings on it's toes reached out of the portal, grabbed me and dragged me in.

After falling what felt like an eternity of being flooded with owl noises and dodging several large and angry owls with open beaks, I landed face first on surprisingly painful and hard tarmac, don't ask how I still feel pain. I looked around, seeing a town in the distance from south of where I was floating and north of me were a pair of low glowing lights. Then right in front of me a large building with a huge sign saying "DAEMON HIGH" , with an emblem the shape of an arrow pointing downwards, on the arrow was another large D. One half was a light blue, while the other half was a flaming red.

I looked around and saw no one. I shrugged and decided to approach the tall gates of the building, until I heard a deep voice say "Who are you?" I yelped and turned around. I saw a large muscular man with green eyes, black hair and a pair of pointed dog ears on the top of his head. Yes, I said pointed dog ears. He asked me in that deep growl-ish voice of his "What never seen a dog folket before?"

"No...what ar-, wait...you're one of those furries I've been hearing so much about?" I replied.

"What?! NO! Oh wait, you're an outsider, we're called the Folk. Now are you here for the new student thing or not. If not I would have to tear you up good," He growled as he grabbed the spear strapped on his back. The spear had a diamond shaped tip, topped with three sharp points. Its point glowed a bright green color.

"I guess that I'm here for the student thing, why else would I be here." I said. I had no idea what I got myself into and new student thing?

"Oh" the dog folket said as his expressions relaxed a bit, "Well then, follow me" I followed him into the school, past the guard house which was a small hut with a table and a chair in it with no door, past a bunch of snapping alligators that were wallowing in the pond nearby, up the staircase, which I have no idea how I managed to climb, and through the main double mahogany doors of the school. Well technically, it's is a maze, we twisted and turned so much it made my head spin. We passed the classrooms, the gym the cafeteria, a Danger Room, and a torture chamber? What kind of school has a torture chamber? "Oh by the way, do not go into that room" warned the dog folklet. "What's in there?" I asked. The dog folket whispered something into my ear and told me something that will always keep me up at night. I gulped and carried on walking, or drift/floating as I don't have lower limbs.

Soon we reached the principal's office and I remembered the last time when I met the principle of my school when I was still alive was the time I set fire to the school's swimming pool. I could hear the sounds of yelling, vulgarities, wood being splintered and a low yelping sound. Even the dog folklet in front of me looked uneasy, his spear raised as if getting ready for combat.

Oh boy.

I was a bit nervous about meeting the principal thing, but this? This was apparently different. I was terrified.
