Chapter 19: Team Santana

Fox's ears perked up when he heard the roar, he jumped off the javelin and grew his body in a flash of fire, this time instead of 1 tail, he grew 4.

This brought up a question I wanted to ask for a long time. What is he? A nine tailed fox? Never mind, I’ll ask later. Anyways focusing on the current situation here, Kai turned to Sabrina and said "Go! Get out of here! Get the goblins too!"

"I've already used my magic to teleport the goblins back, but we stand and fight," said Sabrina. Julia shook her head and said "Your teammates don't look so hot, run, we'll catch up."

Sabrina shook her head and said "You don't get it, they're stronger than we are, they'll be too much for you!"

"It okay just go!" yelled Kai. They didn't, so Kai put up a magic wall between us and Gemini and yelled "GO!"

Sabrina nodded sadly and took off with the rest of her team. At that moment, we heard laughter followed by Jack saying "Heh, don't think you'll win, she's right, you won't," and ignited his hands, while his brother got ready to cast his ice shards.

We all drew our weapons and stood our ground, and that dragon sounded really close...Suddenly, a patch of shadow appeared beside Jack and three people rose out of it.

There were two girls, one who had a rapier in her hands, and the other one’s hands were glowing with some kind of magic and a dude who has seemed to make everything around him darker and the shadows looked like they were reaching out for him. Out of everyone in Team Santana, the black and purple look seemed to fit him, he look up and looked at us with those glowing yellow eyes, he took a step forward, and so did I.

I aimed my sword toward him and said “Another step and you’re going to get it,”

He took another step forward and another and another. He started walking towards us and I tried to cut him, but my sword just went right through him, he turned smoky right before my sword had contact. At that moment he looked at me, and I saw a sleepy look on his face, like he was sleep walking, he turned his attention away from me and walked towards…Wendy?

“Wendy…” he said softly. Wendy’s eyes seemed to say “S-Steven? Is that you?”

The other team must have found out that their friend was acting strange, so Jack said “Hey boss! Boss! Snap out of it!”

Steven stopped and shook his head, the sleepy look went away and was replaced with a confused look. “Huh? What the…How did I-”

“SURPRISE!” cried Fox as he headbutted Steven in the stomach. He then looked at the ceiling and said “Smart! Shadow magic being weakened by a familiar face! What else can you think of dude?”

Who was Fox talking to? The main question is, Wendy knew this guy?

When Steven doubled over, Wendy bent to down to help him up, but she was pushed away by him. Steven got up and cried “Team Santana attack!”

HHHRRRROOOAAARRRR!

That roar again, man…it’s…right on top of us! We all dodged away just in time right before a huge Dragon crashed on top of where we stood. It was about the size of a rhino, and it looked like a wyvern with black scales, and a girl was riding it, she held the dragon by his horns and in the dragon’s mouth was…Lark…Fox!

Fox was caught by his tails, three of his tails were in the dragon’s mouth and he was hanging there, trying to pull himself free. He breathed fire at the rider, but the dragon flung Fox into the air, stretched his mouth like a snake and snapped at Fox.

Fox’s head got snapped off and bounced back towards us, Joel caught him and placed him back on the javelin. Fox said “Well…Hammer Time!”

The dragon snorted and roared and he…shrunk? He shrunk to the size of a sparrow and perched on his rider’s shoulder.  Jack came charging right for us immediately when the dragon started shrinking, and so did the rest of his team. Rapier Girl came straight for me, I swung my sword and swatted away a rapier to my face right in time.

I ‘stood’ there looking at the girl, actually I looked at her weapon more. Always keep your eyes on your opponent’s weapon, I’ve been told that many times, by both that Crow Fox merc and Angie’s trainer. We circled each other, swords raised and waiting for the first attack. The girl said “You know…it’s polite to introduce yourself to your opponent before sword fighting,”

I blinked, not expecting that, and said “You first,”

“The name’s Goldia O’marley, you?”

“Xiang, just Xiang, don’t really have an official last name since I don’t remember,” I replied. Goldia blinked, and I took the opportunity to swipe as she took her eyes off my weapon. She quickly ducked and thrusted upwards, I quickly turned intangible and avoided a sword point to the stomach. Whew! That was close! I needed that! She got up and her sword arm almost immediately turned into a flurry of thrusts, I didn’t have time to turn intangible so I was jabbed in the neck and shoulder and…hey! My hat!

My hat ended up stuck onto the tip of her rapier, you know the hard-ish part of the baseball caps? Yeah that part was stuck on the tip. I looked down and say light greenish liquid dripping onto my shirt from my neck and shoulder. It looked lighter than water…so that’s what ectoplasm looked like…

Refocusing on Goldie, who was still trying to remove the hat from the tip. I took it as a chance to swipe at her, she had no choice but to dodge it, but when she did so she accidentally dropped her sword. I about to pick it up and throw it away, but when I started bending down, I suddenly stopped.

My body started moving on its own, my head was forced to turn around and I saw another girl, her hands were glowing a bluish color and her fingers moved like she was controlling a puppet. Great…a spectremancer…I hate those ghost controlling peeps…

I was forced to raised my sword arm and I tossed my sword away, no not away, at someone. I cried out “Angie! Look out!”
