Chapter 34 (Tracey’s P.O.V.)
“Well that was fun.” I said, helping Sabrina clean the kitchen.
“Yeah,” she smiled, “I’m happy that they came over.”
I nodded. I was happy that they had come over too. I think Liam was a little disappointed though, because Hannah had broken his undefeated streak at MarioKart. I think he’ll be okay though, because it was Hannah who had beaten him.
“Yay!” I cheered as I passed the last dish to Sabrina. “We are done.”
“Finally,” Sabrina sighed as she added to the stack that was drying. “It’s about time.”
“How you guys doing in here?”
I turned around to see Hannah and Alice.
“We just finished,” I told them as I set down the cleaning rag.
“Alright, then let’s do something.” Sabrina chimed in.
Hannah nodded for a moment, before shaking her head, “But let’s not make another mess of my apartment, because I am over cleaning.”
“You think?” Alice looked at her, “It’s my birthday and I got stuck cleaning your living room.”
“Sorry,” Hannah said. “You can blame the guys for being so messy.”
“At least Harry and Liam tried to help a little before they left,” Sabrina pointed out. I had noticed that they were trying to help each of the girls. I didn’t see much, because I was trying to put the left overs up and keep Niall off of them at the same time. That was interesting.
“How about we go for a walk?”
We all looked at Sabrina. She smiled back, “We could all just walk and relax, not to mention get caught up.”
“That’s a good idea,” Alice smiled, “and I would like to see what this city is like.”
Hannah nodded, “Then let’s get going.”
I’m pretty sure this is one of the latest walks I have ever taken around Los Angeles, but it’s one of the most fun. We were being idiots, having fun. It actually felt as if we were all in high school again. Alice seemed to be doing good back home. Her little sisters, Lindsay and Julie, were driving her insane as always. Sometimes I wonder how she did it all. She was working six days a week and then running her house and finding time to visit her mom in the hospital. I kind of wished I could be there to help out more, and I know Hannah did. Hannah had been over helping Alice right before we left for California. She had wished us well and told us that she was sorry that she couldn’t go with us. I know how much she was torn. Alice was just as much in to acting as Hannah and Sabrina, but she hadn’t been able to come with us to follow her dream. She always told us that she was fine, there wasn’t anything that she could do about it.
But that was earlier. Now we were truly being idiots.
“Ready?”
Hannah and Alice nodded. I held on to Hannah tightly as Sabrina and I counted off.
“On your mark…Get set…” we looked at each other and nodded as we said, “Go!”
Then we were off. I watched as the trees flew by.
“Go Alice!” Sabrina yelled as she held onto her for dear life.
We were currently having piggy-back races through the park as we headed back. I was on Hannah’s back and Alice had Sabrina. It was one of the most stupid things that we have ever done, but it was really fun.
“We won!” Hannah exclaimed as she dropped my legs. I slid to the ground quicker than expected, and had to catch my balance to keep myself from falling on my ass.
“Not fair,” Alice panted as she let Sabrina off. “You used to run track.”
“Yeah, middle school track.” Hannah said as she caught her breath. Sabrina walked over and put her arm around me.
“Hey we just got a ride, should we tip them?”
I looked over at her with a thoughtful face, “Nah.”
“I heard that.” Hannah said as her and Alice stood, looking at us. “Come on. We should be heading home soon.”
I really didn’t want to go home yet, but I understood why Hannah wanted to go home. She hated going out after dark ever since the night she met Liam. I looked at my phone. It was almost midnight, it had been dark for a while.
“Alright.” I said as we began to walk back. We talked and danced down the street. At one point, we even linked arms and sang, “We’re off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz.” as we skipped. But our fun was cut short.
“Well, this is me.” I said as I unlink my arms and turn to the building. “See you guys tomorrow.” I waved to them and they waved back, before they continued down the street. I watched them skipping and singing random things from old musicals that they had done together. I shook my head at them as I walked in.
“Home sweet home.” I mumbled to myself as I flipped on the switch. I stopped for a moment. My apartment was a mess. It was worse than when I left. My couch was flipped on its back and everything was thrown around the room. I stood there for a moment taking it all in. Someone had ransacked my apartment. My eyes then landed on a piece of paper that was taped to my TV. I stepped over things and made my way to it before ripping it off.
It read: You need to learn to stay away from my man before it’s too late.
I glared at the note. Some crazy bitch had trashed my apartment because they thought I might be helping their boy two-time them. I chucked the note, people were so stupid. I sighed as I looked around the room.
“Guess I can’t get out of cleaning now.”
