"So what's your real name?" I asked, walking in a faster pace than normal.
She was gasping for air, obviously trying to catch my pace.
"Tish." A deep breath. "You could call me Tish, but my full name is Maria Litisha Hernandez."
"Okay, Tish would do." I told her but not looking at her.
"I'm in the same class with you in P.E., you were amazing!" She excitedly bragged about.
"Thanks." I replied in my uninterested voice, in contrast of how lively she was.
"You don't look like you can move like that, but you did it gracefully! All eyes were on you when you were performing and I can read what all the others were thinki---"
"Tish? It's getting darker, probably we should be in a hurry. We probably don't want to encounter the likes of those rapists." I told her in monotone.
I saw her lively spirit die, leaving an 'oh' and a small 'bye'.
When we separated paths, Toni and Luke's company blocked me.
"Oh come on, give the poor girl a chance to talk to you." Toni said.
"What am I, a freaking saint?" I answered sarcastically.
"You're famous!" Jake said.
I rolled my eyes and tried to walk past them.
"Not too fast you silly girl." Luke signed them to block me. They formed a circle around me, trapping me like a fly.
"What do you need from me?" I told them, showing how annoyed I was. "If you don't let me go, you're going to regret what I'm about to do." I told them as I saw a couple of faculties and guards near us.
"And what are you going to do? Hah?" Jake laughed.
"So you're laughing," I took a deep breath, "let's see if later you could still laugh." I told them before I let out an ear breaking scream.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!! HELP!! HELP ME PLEASE!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP MEEEE!!!"
I saw the guards rushing to us, in time to see the guys circling me.
The boys stared at me open-mouthed. I put out my tongue dissing them before I turned to the guards and faculties approaching.
"Help me! I don't know what they're planning to do but they are scaring meee!!" I acted to be really scared like a little cat.
The guards confronted them and the faculties asked if I'm okay. Somewhat I managed to force a tear out of my eye, improving my acting. The boys explained that they were just joking and doesn't mean any harm.
"I just read the news and I freaked out when they trapped me," jeez I could replace Jennifer Lawrence in Hollywood, "I was so scared didn't know what to do!"
The boys protested as the guards pulled them to the headquarters. I was comforted by the teachers and I convinced them that I was alright.
See? I could be a drama queen.
"Aaianah let's talk!" I heard Toni shout behind me, but I ignored him and continued my way to the dormitory.
---------
I came to class late, not because I hate Algebra, but because Toni is in the same class.
Before I entered the room, Toni showed up and confronted me.
"You owe us something, don't you?" He asked.
"Don't know what you're talking about." I sarcastically answered him.
"You are so unpredictable." He said, shaking his head.
I continued to walk towards the room and I heard him follow me. I sat on my usual seat and he sat beside me.
"We got a lot of trouble because of that."
"Should I care?"
"We almost got suspended if Luke hadn't---"
"Hadn't what?"
"Should you care?" He bounced my question back to me.
I let out a disappointed grunt and let my thoughts go to what's written on the board.
"Today we're going to arrange you in your seats in an alphabetical order." Ms. Johnson told us.
I rolled my eyes only to see Toni staring at me.
"You're freaking me out." I told him.
He did not say anything nor did he not cut his stare off me.
He stopped staring at me when Ms. Johnson called his name to assign him his seat. Even in his new seat he turned to stare to me, again. Ugh. Annoying.
Ms. Johnson started teaching us about Summation Notation and I patiently copied what she wrote on the board. I need to pass this subject, I told myself. I got preoccupied in understanding and analyzing the problems when the bell rang.
I sighed and stayed until everyone was gone.
I was even surprised when Toni didn't stay to bug me. I guess him tailing me kind of seemed normal that I released a sigh of relief that he actually left without me.
