Chapter Twenty-two

She walked closer to me and put her hand on my upper arm, "I may not be particularly keen  on the fact that you're an Omega, but you are my sons mate," she said and I smiled warmly at her, "and you must look absolutely divine on your first date with him." Maybe she was growing to like me after all.

"Thank you," I smiled, taking  the dress from her and laying it out on my bed.  She nodded with a tight smile and then walked out of the room, mumbling something to herself. And thanks to my wolf hearing I managed to hear what she was saying. And I wasn't sure if I liked what I was hearing...

"Blair? You okay?" My head snapped in the direction of Octavia's voice, making me lose focus.

"Huh? Oh yeah, fine," I mumbled, my eyes still focused on the Luna as she looked around her and then at me, a wicked glint in her eye, before she walked away. I turned around and looked at the dress the Luna had given me and sighed, debating whether or not I was going to wear it on the date. My mind was telling me no, why wear something given by someone who clearly hates you? But my heart was telling me yes; it was a truly beautiful dress.

"Well I guess I know what I'm wearing now," I laughed half heartedly as I averted my eyes from the dress and looked at Octavia, my lips forming a weak smile. She smiled almost apologetically at me and shrugged one shoulder.

After staying glued to our spots for another minute Octavia ushered me over to the white vanity that was sat against the wall and sat me down on the plush chair.

"Need any help?" A voice popped up from the doorway. Naomi was standing with her hands behind her back and was anxiously tilting back and forth on the balls of her feet. I smiled warmly at her and waved her in, "You can never have enough help," I laughed.

"You do the hair and I'll do her make up," Octavia said. Naomi nodded and they both began working away on my appearance.

An hour later I was looking back at my reflection in the mirror and I was amazed at what I was seeing. Never in a million years would I ever picture myself looking like I did.

Naomi had neatly curled my hair and made six singular plaits, three either side of my head, and she had tied them up at the back of my head, completing the look. It was simple, yet it looked amazing. Octavia on the other hand had done  my make up extravagantly, contrasting against the hair style. My eyelids were covered in the brightest, sparkliest gold you'd ever seen, complimented with  a thin line of eye-liner winged perfectly at the end and some fake eyelashes. My skin looked silky smooth and apparently that was because of the foundation and face powder she had put on face. And my lips were perfectly red. All-in-all I looked amazing; not to sound vain.

"Now for the dress!" Saph squealed excitedly, clapping her hands. Naomi passed me the dress from the bed which I took from her, making sure not to crease it before putting it on. I then went in to the bathroom and stripped from the clothes I was wearing. Looking down at my body I grimaced at what I saw. Bruises and scars covered my skin in any place they could, left from my old pack... Left from myself...

I put on the dress, surprised of how perfectly it fitted.

Well damn, you look good, Nelly's voice appeared in the back of my mind and I chuckled.

I ran my hands down the material of the dress and smiled to myself. I finally felt good about myself, sometime I hadn't done in such a long time.

"Hurry up!" One of the girls yelled from the bedroom causing me to laugh. I left my clothes in a bundle on the floor, making a mental note to move them when I come back from the date, and left the bathroom, going back to the bedroom.

"Oh. My. God." Was the first thing that left Octavia's mouth, her eyes wide. Naomi, on the other hand was standing with her arms crossed over her chest, a smile on her lips.

"Alpha Riley's not going to be able to take his eyes off of you," she smirked, Octavia laughing.

Sapphire walked up to me, her eyes wide and a smile planted on her lips, "you look like a princess! Princess Blair!"

Bending down to her level, I smiled and tapped the tip of her nose, "thank you, princess Saph." She giggled and ran back over to the bed.

There was then a knock on the door and Payton popped his head round the corner, a shy look on his face. Immediately my heart started racing, feeling as though it was going to leap out of my chest. I hadn't seen Payton since the accident.

"Alpha Riley is waiting downstairs," Payton said quietly and bowed his head, leaving before I could thank him. I wanted to talk to Payton if I was honest, I wanted to know why he did what he did. But I just hadn't brought myself to do it yet.

Before I could go and meet Riley, Octavia handed me some black heels and Naomi sprayed another layer of hairspray on my hair. "Okay, now you're ready." Naomi said.

"My little girl's growing up," Octavia fake cried, pretending to wipe tears from her eyes. I shook my head, an amused smile on my lips and then took a deep breath. I was going on a date. My first date.

When I met Riley at the bottom of the stairs I couldn't take my eyes off of him. His hair was styled to perfection and he was wearing a black suit with a white shirt and black tie to match. It was like I was going to a prom - one of which I had never actually been too. Before I reached the last step, at the last minute he pulled out a single red rose from behind his back. This was literally like a movie.

Riley snaked an arm around my waist and leaned closer to me, planting a small kiss on my neck and softly whispered in my ear, "you look beautiful. Beyond perfect."

I blushed a deep shade of red and responded the only way I knew would do justice; a kiss. With his hands on my waist pulling me closer to him and my arms draped around his neck, I moulded in to him perfectly, like two puzzle pieces designed to fit in to each other.

"Ready to go?" He asked me, pecking my lips again lightly in a small kiss.

Pulling away with a smile on my face I nodded, "ready."
