I stood frozen to the spot as the unknown male proceeded to hold me tightly, his face still nuzzled in my neck.
Mate, Nelly spoke happily and my eyes widened. I hadn't even noticed the mass of tingles shooting up and down my body. I put my hands on my 'mates' chest and I could feel him smile against the nape of my neck but that smile was soon swept off his lips when I pushed him away.
"Blair, you okay?" Payton asked me. I bit my lip and nodded, stepping back so that I was next to him.
"Are you okay?" I asked worriedly, my voice quiet and shaky. He nodded but I didn't believe him. I looked him over and sighed, no scratches, cuts, bruises, nothing. "See, fine," he smiled weakly. I shook my head and turned back around to the male, a low growl escaping their lips and I shivered.
That's the Alpha. The one I was going to take you to. I looked up at Payton and furrowed my eyebrows. How was he able to mind link me when I wasn't apart of the pack? Since you're now a rogue and on our territory you've gained our link.
Oh.
"Mine," the Alpha growled once more, sending shivers through my body in both fear and pleasure.
Go to him, Nelly told me, he needs us.
I sighed and slowly walked over to him. I could feel the anger radiating off his body and I stopped when I was inches from him. I reached my hand up to his face and gently placed it on his cheek, rubbing my thumb back and forth. I feel him relax under my touch and I smile triumphantly, moving my hand and stepping away from him.
But then my stomach decided to make the most dreadful sound ever. My cheeks heated up almost instantly and I looked to the ground in embarrassment, Payton and the Alpha both erupted in laughter.
"C'mon, let's get you some food," Payton said placed a hand on my lower back, taking me inside the pack house, leaving my mate standing helpless and alone.
"No, it's fine, I'm not hungry.." I lied through my teeth. Obviously I was absolutely starving but I didn't want to seem disrespectful. I'd already entered their territory without permission and made someone get hurt, the last thing I wanted to do was walk in and have them waiting on my hand and foot.
"Sure, and I'm pregnant." he rolled his eyes and I stopped, stifling a laugh. "What?" he chuckled. I shook my head and carried on walking. "To the left," Payton told me and I nodded, turning left and walking in to a huge white kitchen.
"Wow.." I mumbled to myself as I looked around the magnificent kitchen.
"What would you like?"
"Uhm, just a sandwich please?" I said and looked around. You could see the garden that led in to the forest from the giant double doors of the kitchen. Some kids who looked about four or five were running around the garden playing with a football while the mothers sat aside, having a conversation of their own.
"Here you go m'lady," Payton bowed as he held out the plate with my sandwich on. I giggled quietly and took the plate, noticing that he'd cut it up in to two halves.
"You know, I'm not a child," I told him as I picked up one half and took a bite, the taste of ham and cheese dancing across my taste buds was amazing and I couldn't help but moan in delight.
"That good, huh?" Payton smirked and came and stood next to me.
"I.." I started but then stopped. I looked down at the second half of the sandwich and bit my lip, pushing it away from me and further in to the middle of the island in the middle of the kitchen.
"Is there something wrong?" Payton furrowed his eyebrows as he leaned across from the other side of the island.
"No, I'm just not hungry anymore," I shook my head slowly and stood up from the stool I was sitting on.
"You have to eat," he sighed and pushed the plate back in my direction.
"Payton, I haven't eating in months, my stomach isn't exactly used to having full size meals or anything yet. When it is, I will eat, trust me."
He sighed and was about to speak when someone tapped my shoulder gently. "E-excuse me.. The Alpha would like to see you.." A young girl mumbled quietly, looking down at her feet. "I'll show you to his office." I looked over to Payton and he waved me off. Nodding, the girl took my hand and lead me out of the kitchen and through the halls until we reached a long corridor with two massive double doors at the end. "He said knock once then go right in."
"Okay," I said nervously and began to walk down what seemed like a never ending corridor but stopped when I was stood in front of the double doors.
"Come in." A voice boomed from inside the office. A shiver ran through me and I hesitantly pushed it open, the sight that fell upon me taking my breath away. The alpha was stood casually leaning against his desk with his hands shoved in to his pockets.
"Hey.." I quietly said and shimmied in to the room, the floor closing behind me. I gasped as the door loudly slammed back in to place and found myself walking forward towards my mate who had an unreadable expression on his face.
"Hey," he said huskily as he looked down at me, his dark eyes luring in to mine. "So, you're my mate, huh?" His eyes shimmered a light blue colour as he searched mine for any emotion.
"Yeah.." I muttered weakly, my heart beat growing faster by the minute.
"Don't be nervous, kitten." He looked over my face, his eyes lingering on my lips a little before they met my eyes again.
"Kitten?" I breathed out and pulled my bottom lip in between my teeth nervously. A small smirk appeared on his face and he slithered his arm around my waist, pulling me closer so that my body was now pressed against his.
I looked up at him slowly and gasped. Instead of his face it had been replaced by a member of my previous pack, Moonstone, who had forced me in to something I'd rather not talk about.
"What?" He asked but I just shook my head; he didn't need to know that at the moment. I wasn't even sure I wanted him as a mate.
Don't say that! Nelly scolded me. He's our mate, we need him!
I know, I sighed, mentally rolling my eyes, but what if he hurts us?
He won't hurt us, she told me, laying down and resting her head on her front paws.
"I don't even know your name," he told me, his hand softly trailing down my face as he looked deeply in to my eyes.
"Blair.." I whispered. I was sure he knew my name already from when Payton said it earlier but oh well.
"Pretty name for a pretty girl," he smiled.
"What's yours?"
"Riley." He said. "Alpha Riley."
