"Uh..."

"Well?"

"I...It's...Uh..." I say incoherently.

"It's a yes or no answer, Parker." He says lightly.

"Okay." I finally said.

"YES!" He shouts happily.

I gawk at him and he laughs. "Is me saying yes really that big of a deal?"

"Oh absolutely Parker. See you tomorrow." Then he helps me up and goes home. Did Ryker, my only friend I made today, just ask me out? And did I seriously say yes? What is wrong with me? Don't answer that. I shiver and walk back inside. Before going to bed I make sure all the doors and windows are locked and everybody's still asleep, and finally eat. When I get to my room I change and drop right down into bed and wrap myself in a cocoon of blankets and drift to sleep.

I'm awaken by the sound of Jason's voice again. "Sara. Sara. Sara Parker wake up." He says with mock authority.

I'm still half asleep so my only response was on the lines of "Mrrahh"

"That's not English. Wake up." He shakes me slightly laughing. When I refuse to move, he threatens me. "If you don't get up by the time I get back, I'm going to dump a cup of ice cold water on you." He leaves and of course my usual stubborn self doesn't move an inch.

"Don't ever say I didn't warn you." Then my face is hit with freezing cold water. I instantly shoot up fully awake.

"I hate you."

"No you don't."

"No you're right. Because hating you would require mental energy. I'm going to choose to ignore you."

"Really?"

"Yes really." He raises an eyebrow. "Starting now." He puts his hands up as a sign of surrender and walks out. I get dressed and do my usual morning stuff. By the time I get my backpack slung over my shoulder, Mark's already there.

"So how was your first day yesterday?" He asks.

"Good." We mumble.

"Not up for conversation I see." I just simply nod.

The rest of the car ride is spent in awkward silence. I'm still giving Jason the silent treatment and he's finding it very amusing. So amusing that he sits next to me in the car constantly whispering "Sara," in my ear. It took a lot but I refused to give in to his antics. Instead I stared straight ahead and refused to even blink at him.

We finally arrived at school and I was the first one out. I went straight inside to my locker and grabbed by book and stuck my personal journal inside in its place. I closed my locker and made sure it was locked at least 10 times then made my way to first period.

It was rather boring except for the death stares I was getting from Hanna. Seriously what did I ever do to that girl? I mean now she would have a reason to hate me though. I agreed to go out with her ex whom she was obsessed with. But considering it only happened last night, I don't she think knows yet. And I sure as hell wasn't going to tell her.

By third period, my stomach was growling so loud I swear the entire class heard it. So when the bell rang to release us, I practically sprinted towards the lunchroom. I finally got my food and sat down at a table. I was scarfing it down when someone unexpected sat across from me.

I swallow. "Hanna?" I ask.

"Yes, Sara?"

"What are you doing here?"

"Having lunch with you." She said all too sweetly.

"Okay, but why?"

"I was being immature yesterday and I'm here to apologize."

I raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? How about all those chances you had in class?"

"Uh.."

"Exactly. I'm not stupid. You have something planned and I know it. What ever is going on in that head of yours, will not work." I even checked her head. She was planning on having one of her friends come and 'accidently' spill their soda all over me.

"What makes you think I have something else planned?"

"Hmm, let's see. How about yesterday you threatened me for no good reason, tripped me again for no good reason, and today you kept shooting daggers at me? Those enough reasons for ya?" I say.

"Fine then. I won't sit with you." And with that she stalked off.

No sooner had she left, Abby and Christi showed up. "Okay spill. Your emotions are all over the place." Did I mention they're empaths? They can read emotions. I told them about my little encounter with Hanna. They got all mad at her but that quickly went away as soon as Jason sat down.

"Have you forgiven me for this morning yet?" He asks me.

"Yeah, you're forgiven."

"Phew."

I told him about Hanna.

"What a bitch." He said.

"Hey guys there's one more thing I have to tell you." I say nervously.

"What?" They all ask looking slightly worried. I told them about last night and the whole Ryker thing.

"Good for him. He finally manned up and asked you out." Jason said.

"What about me? I'm completely freaking out. I had started throwing out apologies to people and hysterically begging them not to hurt me. He didn't really react at the time, but what happens Friday night? That's only a day away. He's bound to ask me about it." Yes only a day away. We started school on Wednesday.

"Relax, Sara. His emotions and feelings for you are genuine and if he truly likes you he'll understand if you don't tell him." Abby said.

"And if you do decide to tell him, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't treat us any different." Christi added.

"Jason?" I ask him.

"I think that you-we-can trust him. But it's up to you." He stops there when Ryker sits down next to me. His thoughts are all over the place and scattered. I decide to ease his troubled mind.

"I already told them."

He lets out a sigh of relief but not after Jason warns him. "If you let anything happen to her, Ryker, I swear on  my very soul I will beat you to a pulp. And happy to do it."

"Jason." I say in disbelief.

"I promise." He says.

"Ryker! Don't encourage him."

"Aw loosen up Sara. He's just watching out for you." Christi tells me.

I'm about to answer when someone kicks me from underneath the table. "Ow! What was that for?" But she didn't get to answer before someone spilled milk over my head. I stand up and whip around to face who did it. Of course it was Hanna. "What the hell, Hanna?" I shout at her. There's no doubt in my mind that my eyes were bright green.

"I didn't do it." She says innocently.

"I watched you do it!" Abby yells. She too stands up. We were creating quite a scene.

I'm still dripping in milk but I still question her. "What is your problem? If you have something to say or you want to do something to me, then go and fucking do it!" I shout. I expect her to do something, but instead she turns on her heel.

"You just wait." She hisses over her shoulder. I, in turn, leave. I burst into the bathroom and lock it. I then proceed to wash all the milk out of my hair. I brush it and pull it back into a French braid and take off my t-shirt leaving me in my tank top which, luckily, wasn't all that wet. I unlock the door and go out to my friends.
