Then his lips met mine. It was soft and timid at first but I responded quickly. The kiss became stronger and more heated. I tangled my hands into his dark hair pulling him closer to me. He wrapped his arms around my waist. My body was responding happily, but my mind was screaming STOP!

Reluctantly I pulled away. Both of us were breathing heavily. "I'm sorry." I tell him.

"Sorry for what?" He asks breathless.

"For letting it get that far."

"Oh." His face fell.

"It's not that I don't like you Jason, it's just it would be too weird. You've been my best friend for so long, I don't want to complicate our relationship."

"I understand. But you've got to admit, it was one hell of a kiss." He smirks.

"That's beside the point."

"Don't act like you didn't like it." His smirk grows wider.

"Again not the point!" I'm say frustrated.

"But it is a point. You wanted me."

"Jason!" I say exasperated.

"Okay, fine I'll drop it."

"Thank you."

I promise I won't do it again. I just wanted to try it and see how you would react. His voice in my head shocks me. Normally, the only way to talk to me in my head was if I talked to him first. Not the other way around.

"How-How are you doing that?"

"I don't know. I just...did." He answers, clearly just as shocked as I am.

"But you're right. It can't happen again. It would just complicate our relationship. And I have a date tonight with one of your friends."

"That reminds me. I have to threaten him."

"What?" I yell.

"I have to make him promise he won't try and do anything that makes you uncomfortable, he treats you like a decent human being, and he doesn't let anything happen to you. And if he does not follow my instructions, he will not live to see the next day."

I start to smirk. "Like what you just tried?"

He put his head in his hands. "That was different."

"No it wasn't." I say teasingly.

"Yeah, it was. You LIKED it." He said his head snapping up.

"And what if I actually LIKE what Ryker does to me?" I say my voice low.

"Oh you are evil." He replies, knowing very well I was doing this just to push his buttons.

I shrug as if saying 'yeah what else is new?'

The bell rang, and Jason and I got up. "I don't want to go to class." I complain.

"We have to."

"But what if we just play hooky?" I ask mischievously.

"We already did. At PE."

"Then what's the difference if we just skip the rest of school? I don't have volleyball today and maybe we can go and get some pizza?" I was using his weakness. The boy had an obsession with pizza.

"I don't know..." His voice trails off. I know I've got him convinced.

"I'll even let you have most of it."

That was it. He was sold. "Let's go." And with that we set off. We casually walked out of the school gates and then made our way to a pizza place. We walked in and Jason's mouth was watering. We had already had lunch, but he always had room for pizza. He eagerly took the box of mouth-watering greasy goodness from the cashier and we walked out.
