"That really happened?" Abby asked in disbelief. I nodded and both her and Christi were dying of laughter. I had just gotten through the story of how Jason nearly kissed me on the football field and how it was all a part of my diabolical plan.
"You really ARE a tease." Christi says, still laughing.
"And proud of it. Seriously, I am never, ever letting this one go. He's been teasing me about Ryker and now I can tease him about this."
"You are truly evil Sara Parker." Abby says.
"That's what people love most about me." I smirk. We all start laughing again.
"What's so funny?" Jason asks, coming out of the bathroom.
"Oh nothing. Are you comfortable Jason?" Christi asks laughing her head off in the process.
He grimaced. "You told them?"
"Of course I did. You were almost too easy to seduce, Jase."
"I'm a guy! It's not my fault! Blame hormones!" He half yells defensively.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night. You can't be seduced by just hormones. There has to be actual attraction." I reply smirking. "You like me and don't deny it. I've got two empaths right here."
"No I hate you at the moment."
"Denial." Abby coughs.
"Jase. I'm totally cool with it if you like me. You're like my brother and you're my best friend, it wouldn't be awkward. In fact it would just be another thing you and I can throw in each other's faces."
"Okay fine whatever. What if I do have a little crush on you? Who wouldn't?" He replies.
"Like I said Jase, it doesn't bother me. And I kind of suspected it after all these years."
"You did?"
"No freaking duh. I can read your mind genius."
He slaps his head with his hand. "I completely forgot about that."
"Yea."
Suddenly his face goes pale. "You-you didn't see-I mean...uh?" He stutters nervously.
"All those thoughts about trying to tell me or getting me to kiss you? Yup. I saw them."
He blushed as red as a strawberry, causing me to laugh. "Hey, it doesn't bother me. I already told you that. If it did, don't you think I would have confronted you about it a long time ago?"
"I guess you're right."
"Of course I'm right. I'm Sara Parker." I say confidently.
"So? We cool?"
"We're cool." He smiles and goes in his room.
"Aw show's over? I knew we should've got popcorn Christi!" Abby says. I roll my eyes at them and go into my own room. I collapse on my bed and quickly fall asleep.
I wake up gently and for the first time this week, on my own. The sunlight is streaming through the window giving the room a warm, orange glow. I stretch my arms, yawning as I do so. I pull myself out of my very cozy bed and put on the first thing I grabbed out of my closet on. When I came out of my room, I'm immediately stopped by Abby.
"You are not wearing that outside of this house. Not today."
"What's wrong with what I'm wearing? And why not today?" I fire back. I don't get an answer. Instead I am dragged back to my room and got a new outfit thrown at me before she walks out of the room. I reluctantly change and go out of my room for the second time that morning. I had been wearing my favorite baggy jeans and ratty old t-shirt. I am now wearing tighter fitting jeans and a form fitting shirt. Luckily, she didn't make me change my sneakers, which were beat up high tops. I eat breakfast and Mark arrives and drives us to school. The ride, as usual, was boring.
