Max's POV
I walk out the door after Jake to his motorcycle like I had done a million times before. I grabbed the spare helmet and strapped it on and had swung my leg over before Jake had even put his helmet on.
"I have taken you on this bike too many times." He tells me, noticing how fast I had done this.
"Are you gonna get on or not?" I ask him. He swings leg over and starts the bike. I immediately wrapped my arms around his torso to steady myself as he began riding away. I'm not exactly sure how long it will take to get to the new house, but until then the only thing that is keeping me company right now are my own thoughts.
1. This week has been bat-shit crazy
2. I'm not sure what my status is on my relationship with Sara. We're not friends but we're not enemies either.
3. Xavier keeps hitting on me (no surprise there, he hits on everyone)
4. Sara thinks I'm hooking up with Jake
5. I am NOT hooking up with Jake
6. Sara and Jason don't have marks
7. How the hell don't they have marks??
8. I can't believe I agreed to live with 11 other people, 2 of which I have not met.
9. I can't believe I'm actually listing what's going on in my head...
10. I must seriously be insane...
Um, yeah. Can someone show me to the nearest mental hospital, please!? I'm not kidding! Anyone?? Yelling in my own head must mean I'm crazy, right?
Jake's voice shakes me out of my own mental argument. "Max? Max? EARTH TO MAX!" He yells.
"Huh? What?" I asked. Wow I really spaced out.
He chuckled. "We're here." I looked over his shoulder and sure enough, we were at the same house we saw online. I got off the bike and took off the helmet, then started walking up the cement path to the front door. The house was two-story pale pink thing complete with a white picket fence. We are definitely going to have to fix that. I am not living in a pink house, and I don't like white picket fences. They're such a cliche and a stupid one at that. Looks like some new paint will have to be invested in. I mean, we're all unique, our house should be too. A quick look around shows that Jake and I are the first to arrive.
"Hey Jake!" I called over my shoulder.
"What?" He calls back.
"We're the first ones here. You know what that means?"
"First pick on rooms!" We shouted simultaneously. We smiled at each other and ran up to the big, wood door. He pulls the key out and unlocks it. He pushes the door open and we walk in. Inside mirrors the outside. Pale pink walls with white trim. Yuck.
"We have to repaint." I state bluntly.
"You can say that again." Jake mumbles.
I smirk. "We have to repaint." He cracks a smile at me and motions to the stairs.
"Let's go pick our rooms." We make our way up the staircase and are immediately met with a long hallway with many doors. I automatically open the door to the first room. Not bad. It had white walls and was fairly large. I walked inside and opened one of the doors. It opened to reveal a walk in closet. I walked out of the room to look in another room. 5 minutes later Jake declared he had found his room. I walked into his and it had off white walls and was pretty big, its own bathroom, and the fairly large closet.
