Sidney placed her hand carefully on her husband's shoulder. She didn't want him to feel any worse of himself. She knew how he felt about his mother but they never really talked about it.

She had just seen him lash out at his family because of everything bottled in him.

She didn't want to make him feel any worse about himself because she knew he was already blaming himself for the disappearance of their daughter.

"Fernando..." She said as she sat on the arm of the chair beside him in their room. He had driven the car home, she wondered how Dolores and Rafael were going to get home.

"I knew all these years, Sidney. I was so angry with Marie when I found out. She was the first woman I ever trusted and loved. She was always there for my brother and sister even when Angela wasn't..." Sighing and running his hand through his hair," all this is fucked up.."

"Fernando..I understand how you feel but the best thing you could do would be to forgive her because you will hardly have any time to make up for the time you've lost.."

"I know it sounds stupid but everyone has their secrets to keep and it wasn't only hers...she was being a good sister..." She added quickly when she saw the absurd look Fernando shot at her.

He curled his arm on his wife's waist pulling her into his lap and burying his face in her neck.
"I know that's the right thing to do but I can't just seem to do it...see Sidney if she had let us know from start there would have been no issues with our marriage because she was in full support of my decision...unlike Angela. "

"Yes you're right but you can't continue to blame the woman...I saw the look in her eyes when she looked at you..she was devastated....just do the right thing before you regret your actions..." Sidney softly advised her husband running her fingers through his hair softly.

Fernando didn't raise his head up but he listened to his wife's beautiful voice. He was going to do what she said not because he wanted to but his wife thought it was the right thing to do and he has trust in her words.

Rafael pulled away from Marie's arms and wiped the tears from his mother's face.

He knew she had reasons for keeping her secret and she had explained them to him, even if he knew they weren't good enough but she had always been there for him and he could not blindly blame everything on her. He knew Marie was a good woman and this woman he always saw as a motherly figure was his real mother, not the woman who drugged him ,Angela. He still had a few words to say to that woman when she was found.

"It's okay, mom. " He said, his instincts automatically kicking in. Well technically it was not the first time he had called her mother, from his father it had happened several times when he was a kid but now it truly meant something.

"You don't know how many times I have wanted to here any of you say that." She said wrapping her arms round her son's waist. He hugged her back.

For the corner of his eye, he could see his fiancée smiling as she caressed her stomach lovingly. Why was she just standing there?

He unraveled himself from Marie's arms and held an arm open to her, making her eyebrows shot up in surprise only for a moment as she smiled shyly and walked into both their warmth.

They all hugged for a while before everyone was smiling again and chatting excitedly.

Dolores curled her arm round Rafael's, she leaned up to him on her tiptoes.
"How on earth are we going to get home?" Her soft voice said into his ear before she took a sip of the orange juice she was nursing.
