Before you read the next chapter I just want to give y'all a little inside information.
Luna (i.e. The Moon Goddess) - is the werewolf creator so therefore they pray to her.
The Story of the first Lycans: (basically Romeo and Juliette) Basically boy, girl or Makawee Ani'wah'yah and Mikasi Moozwaahowe (yes they are PoC cuz I'm tired of wattpad being filled with white girls w/blonde hair and blue eyes) have tribes that loathe each other, but they want to frickle frack and make pretty babies and get married and shit. So Mikasi asks Makawee's daddy (her actual father you pervs) for her hand in marriage (ew) and of course the dad says no and locks Makawee up so she can't go see Mikasi. So Mikasi runs home and prays to the moon (*cough*) and an "angel" descends from the moon. She says she'll make Makawee's father release her and will give the lovers and place to live far from their feuding tribes but they each must replace half of their human soul with that of a wolf. Of course Miskasi says yes and bam! werewolves are born.
Holidays: Most Lycans celebrate the holidays that the majority of the humans in the region do. However, they do celebrate their own holidays such as Luna's birthday. (April 3 which is the day that people believe the first ever blood moon occurred.) For Luna's birthday people make moon pies and and exchange gifts.
Death:
Lycans believe the souls of the dead never leave they just follow the living people of their bloodline or they are reincarnated into the same bloodline which they were originally born to. Also the dead are hardly ever buried. Lycans cremate the dead and allow the wind or the "soul" to blow the ashes around the pack.
Joining the pack:
It used to be a huge thing, but as modern times rolled in only the Luna's ceremony become a big thing. The majority of the Luna's ceremony is explained in the next chapter, but one thing I think I left out is that the Luna wears white because she/he is getting "married" to the pack and the dining ware used in the blood bond process are gifts from a neighboring pack as a "housewarming gift" for new packs and they are passed down through generations. They promote peace between the packs.
Language:
Lycans speak the languages of their region but all Lycans speak lycanthrope - which is a mix of Ancient Greek and Latin. This language is so ingrained into werewolf DNA that buy the time a baby is able to speak its native language its is also able to speak lycanthrope; however it needs to be triggered somehow.
A little more:
Lycan souls can remain with the pack with and be drawn out during different pack rituals.
