"-and I'd rather jump off a fucking bridge than make nice with him for three hours."Mary Alice laughed without humor. "In a few months time he will be dead and that all the matters. Anyway I'll see you tomorrow. I will drop off your outfits probably after lunch."
After our goodbyes, Zayn quickly ushers me into car after saying we were running late. Zayn drives us out of the pack village and turns on the highway, heading east towards the city.
"Sooo where are we going?" I ask knowing this time he really will not give anything away this time.
He does not reply to me or even acknowledge that I just asked a question. With the smallest ghost of a smile he reaches into a compartment on the driver side door and pulls out a cd which he pops into the CD player.
As the smooth sound of Lianne La Havas fills the car, my curiosity is turned into beautiful choreographed dances and lyrics. I sing along with cd lightly tapped my fingers against my black jeans. I feel Zayn eyes on me as I lose myself in the song.
We should learn to breathe again
Before we suffocate
All this talk but even then
We ex-communicate
I've never known another love
Who looks at me the way you do
And sees the light,
The dark,
The truth
And my real name
You know there's not a soul alive
Could understand you like I do
Its okay my love, no need to explain.
We settle into a sweet silence, which I was grateful for because it gave me time to think. Lianne always reminded me of my mother and the many soulful artists I grew up listening to on my parents old record player. The sweet and soulful jazz that sent electric chills down my spine and cause goosebumps to rise on my arms and legs. I was deep into the music. My surroundings were a blur, Zayn's eyes shifting between my face and he road was a blur. There was just me, the music, and my mother.
When Zayn pulls into a McDonalds, I slip out of my daze realizing we were in the middle of the city and in a McDonald's parking lot. I turn around to see Zayn already looking at me and raise an eyebrow at him.
"Yes I'm taking you on a date to McDonald's.. you want a Big Mac or nuggets?" I watch him pull something black out of his pocket and start towards me.
"What's that?" I ask shrugging away from him
and."It's a blind fold, kitten." He as if that is just so normal. I do not reply I just watch him and wait for him to explain himself. "We are about a block from your surprise and I don't want you to realize what it is yet, so come here." I allowed him to blindfold me, but as he finished tying the silk fabric around my eyes I captured his left hand in both of mine and hold his hand captive his hand in both of mine.
His eyes trace my skin as he chuckles and half-heartedly attempts to free his hand. "Baby." He whines. "How am I going to go drive like this?"
"You'll find a way."

Five minutes later, the cars stops again and he tells me to stay put before getting out of the car. He comes around my side and helps me out of the car then guides my off into somewhere.
Curiosity ate at me. My senses were on high alert. I hear people, a lot of them. There has to be at the very least two hundred people here. By the scent, these people were definitely humans.
